I said he would be in the top 5 players in the world by 27, maybe i am i year out, i blame Vieira

I blame injury and the fact that he was average at best when he first came back from injury and Vieira wasn’t frightened to leave him out because of this

I know, I know…….Hogwash

This is bang on. City under Pep is the WORST place a player like Eze could go. All the creativity will be coached out of him. He needs freedom. Spurs under Ange would be a far better move I reckon. He'd flourish there.

Perhaps but he wont win anything though.

Why do you care?

We are Palace fans. Who cares what players do when they leave?

I'm only concerned with keeping him.

Adam Wharton is 20 years old! Being a bench only player for England has not aged him six years surely?

He was talking about Eze, who, after all, is the subject of this thread.

I know what you are saying, but Eze is a strange fish, the massive church influence in his life, Money and Fame might not be his God, If i were him i would wait until Real Madrid, Barcelona or even better PSG, like a Sunday league with a few Champions league games

I'd very much like to see Eze choose to stay with Palace for at least another year. His Christian upbringing and family influence will no doubt help him realise happiness is more important than money. Though its perfectly feasible to assume he may feel he can have both by moving. The exact same thoughts could be applied to the Marc Guehi situation as he is also from a family with a strong Christian background. His father is a Pastor I believe.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see what unfolds.

...and my aunt might be my uncle. Young players often struggle for game time at bigger clubs,Wharton chose us because of that issue.

These days I'd say it were perfectly feasible that your aunt is your uncle. Your comparison to Wharton made mre chuckle. He's only recently turned 20 years of age. Bit of a chasm of difference wouldn't you say?
I'd love Eze to stay at Palace but get real. Are you seriously saying that should he join a club such as City they wont play him? Of course they will and regularly. They are a club that will be fighting on 4 different fronts. If anything he'd overworked compared to his appearances for Palace where he plays league games but is often rested during cup games.

I cant believe anyone would see Spurs as a good destination for a top player.
It is a fact that Daniel Levy and his board whom he answers to have 2 annual ambitions. Finish in the top 4 and make as much money as possible. They are known as the trophy dodgers for a reason!

Best move for Eze is staying and playing regular football under a top manager. Huge gamble to leave, it has broken many English players.

Must admit that whilst I don't agree with all Lanzo's views, I well remember him making claims that Ebs was going to show himself to be probably the best player Palace have ever had - don't remember exact quotes but do remember being sceptical and subsequently realising that he had spotted a fantastic talent very early on. Still for my money Olise and Wilf edge Ebs as Palace's best ever in my time (and I do have a long memory back to mid 70's)

Thank you, yes, i said it first in 2021, i wouldnt say he is yet the best player we have, but along with Vince Hilaire the most gifted, if he makes the right move for him, footballing wise, stay at Palace, do the business, Then if good enough Real Madrid or PSG.

Chuckle.

Vince was good in his day, but he does not compare to Eze, Zaha or Olise.

Football was of a much lower standard back then. Yes the pitches were terrible, and the ball weighed half a ton, but just watch old videos and see how average we were compared to now.

I’d like to have seen how Olise, Eze and Zaha would have coped with the donkeys and hatchet men that Vince had to deal with though, players are far better protected these days. Can you imagine Wilf playing in Vince’s era? One kick even these days and he was moaning and whining to the ref and he’d then go missing for long periods. Vince would get chopped, jump up and take them on again…..and again.
Also you mention the pitches, I know we’ll never know, but would those three have been able to skip over the mud like Vince did?

Beat me to it, excellent post. Hrolf has a point & would the likes of Hilaire, Harkouk, Taylor etc be fit enough for today's game?

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
