His doctors said he doesn’t need one! Not that he refused! Why on earth would he pander to his enemies rather than listen to his doctors? I know I wouldn’t.

Yeah, see what confused me was this bit

Mr Biden, during an interview with ABC News, refused to commit to taking a cognitive test

But there we go. It's not as though he has a job in which mental acuity might be any sort of advantage.

If anyone seriously doubts Biden has cognitive decline, rather than just saying so to be a contrarian, I would suggest they are in the same deluded condition as Biden.

That being said, when you look at the various compilations of Harris' gaffes and word salads, it's not that different from Biden.
Confusing North and South Korea for example.

Even if anyone here was a specialist clinician, which I don’t think they are, they could not make such a diagnosis, without a personal examination.

I am reminded of the time when Trump was accused of having a psychological problem and the professional association was invited to give their assessment, after a large number of their members wrote an open letter stating concerns.

They refused, saying no such opinion was possible with a lengthy person assessment.

What amateurs perceive, especially when led by malign media, is just irrelevant. He has issues, that’s obvious. He is 81 and people of that age often do, but that doesn’t mean he is incapable of functioning. Being forgetful sometimes is a very common human trait, especially when you have lots else to think about. It’s why Presidents have lawyers and staffers by their side.

I don’t blame him! So would I. I would leave it to my doctor to decide what tests I need. They are the ones monitoring my health.

No mention of doctors here

Washington (CNN)During an interview set to air Thursday, former Vice President Joe Biden said that he had not taken a cognitive test and attacked the question as unfair, likening it to being asked if he was a "junkie."

"No, I haven't taken a test. Why the hell would I take a test?" Biden said in an interview with the National Association of Black Journalists and National Association of Hispanic Journalists. "Come on, man. That's like saying you, before you got on this program, you take a test where you're taking cocaine or not. What do you think? Huh? Are you a junkie?"

Why would Biden need to mention doctors?

It’s obvious if his doctors recommended it was necessary then he would comply. He would though not have been under any obligation to make the results public, whatever they were. No doubt the doctors are under an obligation to share anything negative with a small group around the President but that’s where it stops.

Responding with anger and distain at intrusive questioning is exactly how I would react, though possibly with less polite language.

He is isolating with Covid apparently. Promises an address from the Oval Office later this week.

An 81 year old man who's undergone two operations for brain aneurysms doesn't need a cognitive test? OK.

Denial of their condition, or any problems at all, is very common in those with dementia, as is a refusal to seek/permit any medical investigations.
