According to a few reports Roma want to offload Abraham for fee in the region of £25mil. With the money we got from Olise and what we might get for Édouard this would still leave us with enough for a replacement for Olise and possibly another one or two players. It would also give Mateta some serious competition. I see him as a Glasner type of striker with his height and strength. Would love this.

Totally agree. I've always thought he'd be great for Palace. Let's hope it happens!

A few months ago, a loan was taken out by the club on the future sale of Olise, that has to be paid back. There is also other loans to be paid, ie: from the shareholders. I don't think there will be much left out of the fee, do you?

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Don't know mate. If what you say is true then we might not be that busy from now until the end of the transfer window. But realistically none of us really know the ins and outs of the financial aspects of the club. I just hope we can get a couple more players in to give us the squad depth we need and to push on to even greater hights than at the end of last season. Surely if Edouard leaves we need to replace him as there is no really viable option should Meteta get injured. As mush as I would love to see Abraham at Palace, realistically I can see us getting Iheanacho on a freeby, which I would not be against at all.

The last goal he scored for Leicester was last October.

Granted, but might not have been the right system for him to play in. Glasner seems to get the best out of everyone on the field. Not saying he's going to replace Mateta but if Glasner can up his confidence and he has the right support he could be a good backup.

You seem to have inside details of the clubs finances. How much was the loan taken out and from whom? What are the other outstanding loans value to be paid off?
Football is run on loans against future income.
Apart from that why are Roma trying to get rid of Abrahams?

Apparatus they want to go in a different direction and raise the funds to sign Sortloth. I know, it's like a romantic comedy.

This was also reported in the FT. It makes sense I believe it is a short term loan so that we can do our transfer dealings without having to wait to sell a player. I think it is due to be paid back in months rather than years.

Thats how its is and why 'investors' have replaced traditional shareholder types .
looking at any football club books and making head and tail of them is for the experts . You only have to look at the fiasco going on at Everton to realise all is not clear until it becomes clear

As for Abraham ,yes please a clear upgrade on the Arsenal rejects we have been linked with

Always thought he was a good player. However, this would surely involve offloading Eduard but I can see any takers given he is on £85k a week. The scourge of the free transfer.. he doesn’t need to kick a ball and will earn nearly £5m next season.

Following Palace since 25 Feb 1978
