The case won’t proceed because of a technicality, so the facts won’t be examined and a verdict reached. Very different from being tried, found not guilty and thus exonerated.

I hope that if he fails to become President, or in 2029 when he cannot be, that this will be revisited, the technicalities overcome and justice pursued. Either via a successful appeal or starting again. By that time the mood will be very different and the desire to see him face the courts very strong. Although it is also possible that mercy will be on offer in return for some humility. What chance of the latter?
