Indeed ,” who is”. Olise,s all round game is that good . The magic left foot , the stunning goals, are going to be a big miss , for me though it’s his link ups with Eze, and Mateta, that must be replaced, if we can do that, OG,s tactics should do the rest.

Who knows whether this is agent talk or has some substance?

Let's face it , Wilf was a one off, a charismatic player who made an immense contribution to Palace for the best part of a decade. Those kinds of players don't come around very often. And I doubt whether Summerville is the answer

He could be the answer, fingers crossed we sign him

How about Nico Williams? Looks like Zaha, scores like Zaha but also creates goals for others unlike Zaha. A release clause of £40 million.

Is that a tongue-in-cheek suggestion?

Regarding Summerville, £40 million is a lot of money for a player yet to prove himself at the top level. Anything over £20 million and I can't see Palace biting. Also, he plays on the left with most of his goals being cutting in on his right foot, so unless Eze leaves he'd be a backup. Not for me.

I would have taken him last season instead of Franca for the same price but his stock and value has risen since then having won Championship player of the season. I only saw him in the playoff where he was so bad he was taken off
I think there is better value out there but it would be good for the club to get Eze's situation clear

I’ve seen quite a lot of Summerville and he has a lot of attacking attributes.
He’s quick, skilful and is a good finisher.
He very strongly favours playing on the left , cutting in on his stronger right foot (Olise in reverse if you like) and trying to bend the ball inside the far post.
On the limited occasions he switched to play down the right he never looked as comfortable.
The way he plays coming in from the left is more reminiscent of Eze, although he’s more direct and doesn’t meander in the same way as Eze.
There could be more powerful options available who the club are considering , but Summerville clearly has potential.

Disappointed we've not pursued this one, think he would have been a good signing for us

More often than not West Ham pay too much. At in excess of £25m plus add ons, no thank you. Closer to Wharton’s price yes. And I won’t be mourning if they buy AWB at a silly price.
He’s a bit one trick but I concede young enough to learn.

My mate who is a Leeds fan says that this guy is a real headache and is a major disruptive influence on the other players. Last thing we want at Palace. It's not just about getting a quality player but also someone who is going to be good for the team cohesive.

I always treat ‘my mate says’ with a bit of caution, fans rarely know the true behind the scenes situation. However, Dougie is said to attach great importance to the type of person not just whether they are good at football so, if there is any truth in the suggestion that this guy is a bad influence, then Dougie will have found out and steered clear. Whenever I’ve seen him play (not often) I have been less than whelmed.
