I Would also add that I do give Southgate credit for restoring 'hope' to the england fans. After the Hodgson tournament, faith in the england team was at an all time low, with many turning their back on the team. He has presided over the resurgence of the England Expectation, of which that's all on him. "It was a Team effort, I guess it took all players working together to lose this one"

Had Bellingham not dug them out the hole against Slovenia, the team would have come home disgraced. Talksport this morning discussing that the FA are supposedly on the charm offensive - regardless of what happens against Spain - to offer him a new contract. This is a big worry for me. I don't believe a single premier league club would touch Southgate, so why should England? Potter, Poch or Klopp would all be a huge upgrade if they wanted it. I will give him credit for bringing on Watkins. I think the average fan would have gone for Toney. My guy feeling is that we'll grind out a win against Spain. Footballs coming home.

Not sure the players would agree with you. I am disappointed that Wharton has not been given any minutes, had we won our first 2 group games, I think he would have played in game 3. However, I suspect GS made it clear to him that his game time would be very limited ( if at all) but the experience he has gained being around the squad and training with them is invaluable to him. Will he think his medal is worthless? I don’t think so
