We don’t “allow” them in. If they are illegal then they evaded the checks. If they are legal they gave undertakings about their past, and their attitudes, which if found to be lies would enable their visa to be withdrawn and for them to be removed. Actually removing them though is not as straightforward as enabling us to do it.

If they are here then we've allowed them to be here either intentially or unintentially.

But thank you for the lesson on the bleedin obvious!

You are welcome. I am glad it is obvious because that should stop the misrepresentation.

You cannot allow anything unintentionally. It can only be done intentionally.

And I don't give a s*** about the USA or Donald Trump so why on Earth would I complain on HOL about anything whatsoever that happened there or that he did or didn't do? Not everyone is as obsessed by Donald Trump as you clearly are.

Fair enough. I should have said "anyone" as intended as a plural "you" rather then personalize it with a "you". Apologies.

I will not hail any success of Labour as I am not one of their supporters, but if they have done anything to create a base for economic growth I will not shy away from saying that. Fair?

I knew it was coming through my own sources.

A green policy?
We will now have to rely on more imports.

Can anyone make a good argument for this?

So the emissions in production still get emitted - just not by us.
The poorest in society will have to pay more for their imported fuel than they do now.
Heck of a policy Ed - well played you complete knob!

If anything, the UK should do everything it can to be fuel self sufficient. It's hardly a stretch to think some kind of s*** is going to hit some kind of fan in the not too distant future.

Absolutely. I blame Net Zero. Get our emission quotas down, by making it as someone elses problem.

Could always deport all non UK citizens who are currently in prison to their country of birth. This could free up a significant amount of space in prisons?

And would probably empty out some prisons in some areas.

Nonsesnse. If I scrape my car while parking, I have done exactly that - unintentionally allowed it to happen.

I fully expect you now to embark on some convoluted argument to demonstrate that you, as ever, are right. But I've already learnt, having made my point, not to waste any more time in further discussion. So argue away to your heart's content.

Labour are starting to mirror what the SNP do; basically do anything different from before. Hence the SNP drove through the self-identification policy to differentiate itself from Westminster. It was reversed by a UK ruling. Sunak allowed new licences for North Sea and Coal, so Labour have to do the opposite to prove a difference. It is doubtless to force us into going 'green', whether that be by forcing us to by electric cars (the manufacturers are fined £15,000 per ICE vehicle that they sell above a certain percentage), or by the installation of heat pumps, and, of course, making air travel more expensive.

hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing.

I'm beginning to think that the opposition parties won't need to say anything because Labour are going to legislate themselves out of government.

Revoking the Rwanda plan as the boats arrive in larger numbers.
Halting oil, gas and coal discovery when we need self sufficiency more than ever.
David Lammy as foreign secretary, with a man he called a fascist soon to be back in the White house.

Only a few days in. I'm getting a large supply of popcorn.

North sea oil is 70% exported because of the type of oil. However, not issuing new licences and refusing those already "in the pipeline" so to speak is asking for trouble. Firstly, the dosh spent to find these fields is not cheap so expect a claim against the UK gov for compensation. Secondly, it will dramatically affect our balance of payments, tax, VAT income and jobs as it is estimated 200,000 will go. They are high earners and also pay a lot of tax. Those that want to will probably get jobs abroad.

It is an insane policy not thought about clearly at all by a politician who is committed to net zero by all means regardless of the cost.

Other producers much be laughing their nuts off.

Add this to the early prisoner release just announced and we can already see the shape of things to come.

Getting criminals into prison is already difficult as they get a wrist slap followed by a suspended sentence followed by an increase in the suspended sentence time period before the courts reluctantly send them down.

Now they know that the chances of going to prison are almost zero they will be reoffending in droves.

Why not sort out low security accommodation ASAP and house those due for release or low crime in mates there. On the understanding taht they wont abscond. Should they do so they get another 6 months added to their sentence.

I don't blame labour for the lack of space in prisons as its been like this for decades.

But releasing criminals after 40% of their time is criminal!!!

It also appears that 10,000 of the 74,000 non doms have already jumped ship!!! More are expected to leave ASAP.

It also appears that the left wing are pressing for the 2 child limit for benefits to be scrapped and are looking to introduce a private members bill.

They have only been in power for a week and the wheels have fallen off already.
