One of the points during this long drawn out transfer saga was that CPFC wanted a sell on percentage, I certainly hope we did as more than lightly he’ll go for north of £100m in a couple of years to Real Madrid or Barcelona

My thoughts

- one of the best right wingers I have ever seen at Palace. My 16 year old son asked me who i have seen who was better, and frankly i was clutching at straws - having supported Palace since 1986.
- He stayed with us for 1 extra year, upgraded his contract, so we got more money for him when he left
- Yes, yes he had his injury problems. but i am fairly confident that the medical team at Bayern can work out if he is fit and viable.
- I am glad that i dont have to watch him punishing us in the premier league next year.
- we have a sell on clause for if and when he goes to PSG (or whoever)
- i truly think he will become one of the best players who ever played on selhurst turf
- im so pissed he left, but i understand why

No, you shouldn't apologise. I totally misinterpreted your comment, thinking it was about Olise rather than Ebs. I did then edit my post straight away to apologise, but I think you got in first with your (unwarranted) apology. I hope that makes sense.

My view on the Olise transfer: I'm gutted, actually. I don't begrudge his progress, but it hurts to think how much money we will have paid him throughout his various injury absences.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

I'm greatful we were able to see a player of that quality do what he did for the last couple of years. He was exceptional and what we saw from the few games at the end of last season...well we won't get many better players, or combos with Eze.

Enjoy it while it lasted and if anyone thinks we can keep the best then that's wishful thinking. Let's hope we are place that the best think they can come, to be the best, #stepping stone, then we will have some fun times. The odd brilliant one will stay, they might come back. If we are the best holiday destination out there we could become the Ibiza of football.

According to sky sports he has left for £50.8 mil which includes add ons. In my opinion this is bad business by Palace to allow him to leave for so little. If it wasn't for his release clause he would be worth easily £80mil in this current market.

If he is living for circa £50mil I can understand why some may feel this way.

From my perspective however; he did a great job for us, has an ever so slightly questionable injury record, we've (still) made a tidy profit on him, we're not dependant on him a la Wilf, he may well not have come in the first instance without a release clause and there looks to be a sell-on clause which we may well benefit from too.

Naturally, you'll always want to keep your best players. This does look like very good business to me overall however. Thank you and good luck Michael, onwards and upwards Palace.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

We got £45m for AWB five years ago and £50.8m for Olise now…short changed me thinks.

Fantastic player but injury prone. If he had stayed I don’t think we’d have got anywhere near the number of games out of him as we did with Wilf say. Take the money and move on.

An absolute pleasure to watch, so much quality at such a young age. He's destined for great things if he can stay injury free. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on him (a lot of Bayern fans in the extended family) and I'll never miss the opportunity to tell people where he learnt his trade.

We've earnt a very tidy profit, a lot less than his actual value imo but that's fairly common these days with release clauses Haaland, Bellingham, MacCallister etc and I can fully understand players ambitions.

Hopefully we can invest well and we're certainly positioning ourselves as one of the most attractive clubs for young players to come to and excel. Long may it continue as it's a sensible and exciting model for ther club.

All the talk about Olise leaving to further his career according to him and Parish is a load of BS. He is going for the money, let's be honest 200 plus grand a week, who wouldn't go. I also notice that he now manages to speak more than a couple of words with his reasoning for going to Germany. I liked him as a player whilst he was here, but he has gone now. So onwards and upwards.

Obviously getting a big move is going to come with more money (and it's ridiculous amounts but that's not anything specific to this move) however if it was purely for money he'd have gone to Saudi for more. Bayern is a huge club offering annual challenges for domestic and European titles. That's certainly a good way to further his career and I don't think any realistic Palace fan could argue against that. Obviously give it a few more years and we'll be able to offer the same

Wish Michael all the best but in my opinion not irreplaceable
A great price for a player who's has had two serious hamstring injuries and didn't cost us that much when we bought him. Ebs is a different matter. Need to keep at all costs

If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong
