And yet you seem unwilling to accept any deterrent that would limit the number of people who are not genuine asylum seekers. You will rely on co-operation with our neighbours, rather than us becoming self-sufficient in our own methods of dealing with the problem.
Picture this: Keir Starmer wins a large majority. Le Pen forms the next French government. How do you think those two are going to get along? There will be members of the Labour party who will refuse to even acknowledge the French election result, such is their distain for the 'far right' (although 'far left' would be perfectly acceptable).

Not at all.

If a genuine and effective deterrent can be found which deters economic migrants then it would have my support. Maybe that’s the Rwanda scheme but it seems fraught with problems. At least they are trying.

There are no ‘proper channels’ for people not currently in the country.

Its not possible to apply for or claim asylum in the U.K. from outside of the country, and there is no visa scheme which allows asylum seekers to travel here, so that leaves one option…

Rubbish.

Plenty have claimed asylum without arriving on dinghies or the backs of lorries.
More to the point, they didn't come via a number of other safe countries from a country that is perfectly safe.

With respect that’s a different problem. It needs appropriate action and reassurance even if it is grossly overstated.

I have noticed a huge increase in public toilets locally being converted to single booths which can be accessed by anyone. The same being true of those in supermarkets.

That surely is the way forward.

Rwanda-we agree on something! The problem with Rwanda is that whilst it’s been discussed to death, appealed, re-appealed, you then have the mob to contend with who surround deportation vehicles etc. perhaps we could deport them too.
Anyway, my disappointment with Starmer over scrapping the scheme shows me that he is not keen on solving the problem if it was the Tory’s idea. He wants his own solution to fail instead…

hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing.

Both our local Lldl and Aldi have such loos. Are they corny mini marts in your area? They are quite big stores here!

At last a link between supermarkets, politics and toilets.

Are you happy with joint toilets as a majority of ladies would prefer not to have a man they don’t know who dresses like a slut having a poo or a w*** in the cubicle next to them. Your girls and wife may well be in the minority though !

Think you misread title of post. It's about the General Election. No R in it.

Lanzarote has a problem with illegals arriving by boat and they fly them on to Madrid in the middle of the night when the demonstrators are fast asleep
