I will be glad when it’s all done and dusted and we move on. Been a distraction and it always turns into a saga. I’m sure someone has already been lined up to replace him and we can go again. Of the potential replacements, Summerville from Leeds has potential and will most probably give us a good investment should we need to sell him. We will find another Olise and I’m pleased our squad has more meat on the bones now to deal with his departure. Goodbye Olise and thank you for your services if only brief.

The fact is we most probably need to sell 2 or 3 every year to freshen things up and keep within the FFP nonsense.

Best oneliner I've heard for a long time Jordan Ayew give us a wave .

I read on a 'Palace' site that the reason the fee appears to be so cheap, is that, any European CL club would get him cheaper than an English one & that, allegedly', Bayern were/are willing to pay all upfront. which in the grand scheme of things is great for PSR & gives the club some ready capital to use. How true all of that is, is up for debate, but, to me, seems plausible.

Isn't the 30th when PSR kicks in, ie, Forest, Chelsea etc HAVE to sell to conform with PSR? Also, it's when contract periods are classified(I know Olise was on a 4/5yr one), just my take.

Yes and hence my question. Chelsea, Villa and Everton seem to be getting round PSR by selling unwanted players to each other at questionable prices enabling the selling club to book the full amount and the buying club amortising the purchase price over the length of the contract thereby reducing their losses for this financial year.

Or am I just being cynical?

After they got Olise to Chelsea so wrong last summer, I'm not believing that he's gone until it comes from an official source.

However, if he does go, let's keep in mind that we bought Wharton, Eze and Olise for something like £43 million combined. We'll use the money to get better.

It could be a clause within the release clause ensured only a top European club could trigger it. We wouldn’t be the first club to not let a player go to a competitor .
The fee does seem a little on the low side, but only the very best European clubs would pay this, the club probably hoped it wouldn’t happen , not yet anyway.o

He's good enough to play for Bayern, simply evidenced by his performances against 'big' sides at the back end of the season. His numbers were as good as anyone in the league.

They're more than doubling his salary and giving him a route to silverware, easier international recognition and the latter stages of Champions League football.

From Palace's perspective, we got as much as we could out of it financially given the release clause. Olise gave us an extra year and everyone has benefitted from that year.

Hopefully we can eliminate any pre-season time pressure by announcing Kamada as a like for like replacement and then reinvest well.

Well done Dougie for finding Olise and SP for persuading him to stay last year. It’s a pity we didn’t see more of him due to his injury. It would have been great to see a full season of a fit Olise and Eze but it’s not to be. £50 million for him ranks with our best transfer fee and although we might think he’s worth more it remains to be seen if he can stay injury free all season. Onwards and upwards for Palace. Hopefully we keep Eze, Guehi, Wharton, and JP and get a few million for Edouard!

personally am gutted but not in the way I'd lost any sleep over it. Selfishly, I'd have loved to be entertained by Olise for another season. He's a proper Rolls Royce of a player, a maverick who does things most players don't even think of. We saw bit of it but not enough. They say it's better to leave wanting more rather than having seen enough. Not sure I agree in this case.

This time last year i was super disappointed about losing Olise to Chelsea but a year on i am not anywhere near as gutted. I think it is a lot about expectations and i think reading between the lines it was always likely Olise would move on if not this season then certainly next one. I do though feel Bayern are getting him on the cheap especially when you think we sold AWB to Man U for a similar amount. Having said that with the financial fair play requirements it looks like there maybe not the inflated fees going forward as we have been accustomed to in the past.
There looks to be plans in place for this sale and the potential signing of Kamada looks to be as a direct replacement for Olise. I don't know if the money will go to reduce debt but let's hope we can strengthen in other areas to make the squad stronger.

i thought he was more of a central attacking midfielder? I can see another player being bought as a direct replacement for Olise.

I keep wondering if he has a release clause in his Bayern contract!
