Not too many are denying Olise’s ability or right to move to a top Champions League.
club.
Perhaps we have a sell on clause so that when in a year or so he decides Bayern are not good enough for him,and Real Madrid come calling and buy him for £100 million, we at least get some further remuneration?
Such is football these days resembling ever more a commodity trading platform.

I agree with Eaglecoops point on loyalty and have sympathy for the 10 year olds who joyously purchased shirts with Olise’s name in the weeks after Olise signed a new 5 year deal which he had no intention of fulfilling.
Perhaps they should have a money back guarantee in a similar way to Olise’s exit clause?

Ultimately it’s the fans that lose out as more and more money leeches out of the game to agents and players, with the fans paying for much of this excess.

We won’t go back, but I preferred the days of no exit clauses or sell on provisions and times when long term contracts had meaningful value.

There was no issues with sell on clauses from Palace fans when we got him from Reading.

Sorry, I completely disagree.

I wish him nothing but the best and feel privileged, as a Palace fan, that he's worn the shirt for as long as he has.

He should be ambitious, for, imo, he deserves to be playing in the best competitions in the world, such is his talent. It's players like him that make me love football, the beautiful game.

I'm pleased he's not flash, too, as it happens. Just talented.

For me, he is the best I've ever seen at Palace, even above Atillio.

Good luck, MO, and best wishes.

100% agree. Exactly how I see it.

Players come and they go, the only loyalty is from the fans, Kamada is a good player and I suspect Franca will turn out good, if there’s no more release clauses no need to sell, IMO I would accept an 80m+ offer for Guehi, and reinvest in some championship talent

Lot of speculation and a sprinkling of bitterness on here.
We can’t complain too much about the fee then we bought him for 8 million from a club on the verge of bankruptcy.
He showed loyalty last season by not going to Chelsea.
Bayern are a huge club and the German league is nothing the prem isn’t except better run clubs and better fans (except ours)!
Also how do we know that this isn’t part of the clubs plan? Maybe he has to be sold this summer for the model to work?

At the end of next season, after Kompany is sacked for not winning the Bundesliga, Bayern will entice Ollie to be their manager and he will take Ebs with him so he can rejoin his old mate. That's probably not part of the plan.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

lol, bit dramatic. I’d be more pissed off if Ebs goes to Spurs or Newcastle this summer than Bayern next.
As for Olie he will only go to Bayern in your fantasy world if we have an amazing season.

It's not so much bitterness, but it does lead to cynicism.
The next time a high profile player signs a 5 year contract and gives a press conference about being delighted to be committed to the club and having the long term future settled, fans will be entitled to query the sincerity of the whole process.
The contractual equivalent of kissing the badge at whichever club thry happen to play for.

I've seen clickbait suggesting that several PL clubs have offered to let us keep Olise until the end of the season, probably because they can't afford to buy him now.

It doesn't make sense, it would be good for us as a club but why would Olise agree to it if Bayern are ready to buy now.

Bayern are getting a bargain at the reported £50 million. To put into context that’s half what Chelsea paid Brighton for Caciedo ( so forgettable that I probably can’t remember how to spell his name correctly). It’s a funny old world Saint…

hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing.

A valid point. Didn't someone suggest that shirts have an expiration date on the price tag? In the past many have been caught out by clubs issuing their new kit weeks after someone has bought the old one.

I think in general clubs should have a discount if a player moves within 2 years of fans buying his shirt.
