PSG are now rumored to be putting in a 60 mill bid for him [Link]

Sad to see him go, as the team were astounding at the end of the season. The bonus being that he has gone to Germany and won’t be coming back to haunt us. In addition, we now have a war chest to hand to the most exciting manager we have had in years.
If we can hang onto Wharton, Eze and J-P, with some astute signings and OG pulling the strings in the background, it’ll be a great season ahead.

To break up the Olise-Mateta-Eze combination would be a seripus mistake imo, I have heard all the commentators all saying if we retain our top players we could mount a challenge.

Our expectations must be less.

Do we ever want to succeed in the PL, or not?

Gutted as well but we aren’t a powerhouse, yet anyway. However, we are improving all the time, don’t lose the faith. One day we will be in a position where we don’t have to lose our best players. Still can see us breaking into the top 7 next season.

So clearly Bayern are prepared to meet those wage demands - so the move is all about wages and personal gain..!!

In summary if Olise wants to go and chase personal gain in a substandard league good luck to him - meantime we will be fine and if anything stronger..!!

I think it is quite a stretch (pi) that his hamstring issues are going to get worse. Lessons will be learned from Hodgson's error

Bayern are in the Champions League. We are not and neither are the most closely linked EPL clubs, Man U and Chelsea. Bayern are almost guaranteed an ongoing spot (5 clubs from Germany currently get in) unlike the English clubs mentioned. The German league is hardly sub-standard with Dortmund and Bayern reaching this years Champions League and Leverkusen the final of the Europa

At the end of last season, Olise confirmed that he is an outstanding player under Glasner's system. He is one of the best players ever to pull on a shirt

Without the release clause many supporters would have valued hi at, say, 80 million. I don't know what Reading's cut is but we probably have just north of 45 million available. Good luck getting a like-for-like replacement at that price: although Freedman is as likely as getting it done as anyone

Bottom line, Olise has gone both for money and to challenge himself at the highest level. He is a great loss both in terms of points but also enjoyment from a skill level. Palace did all they could reasonably do to keep him and we have to keep our fingers crossed it ends up not mattering

unlike Zaha who was Palace through and through (until the last year or two), Olise was never Palace, just here for the money! Fans need to realise that players dont care who they play for, its all about the money

Some dont even like football Danny Rose and Ben White come to mind, they just happen to be good at it.
If someone gets offered another job with more money and better prospects in the real world they go, same as in football.
Zara would would of gone earlier, if he was bright enough to have a release clause.

Stand back and look at this in the cold light of day..!!

Olise is 22 - already has a not insignificant history of serious hamstring issues, that’s only going to get worse as he gets older.

He played 19 games for us last season - if you believe the threads we offered an improved contract, Chelsea were priced out due to wage demands - apparently wanted to be the highest paid player at Chelsea..!!

So clearly Bayern are prepared to meet those wage demands - so the move is all about wages and personal gain..!!

Put it this way if say we offered 150K a week and Olise accepted it - how would we feel if he only played 19 games next season due to hamstring problems.

I look at this way - we don’t want another Zaha situation - we are no longer a one player team, yes Olise is good but irreplaceable - no - in fact looks like we’ve already identified his replacement in Antonio Nusa - looks very good available at 25M and 3 years younger..!!

It was obvious when we took the 150M loan for transfers - that was based upon that there would be incoming transfer revenue..!!

Quality in depth was our problem last season - with the money from the Ollse deal - get Nusa in, another left back and attacking midfielder/striker in - add that to Riad and Kamada and everything else we have - we have far more quality in depth..!!

Remember Doucoure missed most of last season and we still are yet to see the best/how good Franca is - both will be like new signings next season..!!

In summary if Olise wants to go and chase personal gain in a substandard league good luck to him - meantime we will be fine and if anything stronger..!!

There will perhaps be other bids. I've always thought he'd want to go to PSG or Man U. Obviously Bayern would tempt most but there's the French connection and there could still be silly offers from Man U or similar. We don't need to sell him right now - early days.

Am I the only person who thinks he is just a money grabbing little s***e. Never looked happy when he scored a goal, never looked happy when another Palace player scored a goal, always spoke about how he was only really interested in furthering his own career and obviously made sure that he was able to escape from the Palace as soon as a decent team came in for him.

In my book, this is a player I don’t really want in the team at all anyway, but have I totally misjudged him? Just a possible character playbook of the player that is Michael Olise. What are fans thoughts on how he has played out his career with us to date?
