I know the likes of Wickham and Ferguson are a source of frustration and amusement for us on this site but in both cases the players have been fully supported by the medical staff and given every chance to get back playing again. I think with both players their contracts got extended to allow for this. I think from the club's perspective this is to be commended and it is a shame all round that the bodies of both players have not held up well enough to allow them to fulfill their potential.
I wish Nathan well in the future whether it is soccer or another career he ends up pursuing. It is just a reminder that not soccer is still a relatively short-term occupation and not all players leave the game with a Bentley and a big house.
