It may be wildly optimistic of me but perhaps Glasner et al have looked at the possibility of who may be going, alongside any other resource planning (who we need and where), identified availability in the market and want that business concluded as quickly as possible to integrate players into the team and prepare for the season ahead?

That for me would be far more beneficial than waiting until the remaining seconds of the window to sign Mamadou Sakhos for hefty fees (I loved Sakho just in case that's misinterpreted).
