Would prefer a good mid table finish and maybe a cup run and chance of a Wembley final than "Europe" next season ! I am pretty ambivalent about watching Palace in Europe too but if we want to retain the likes of Olise, Eze, Guehi, Doucoure and Wharton then we need to be able to give them the opportunity to compete at that level.

Olise masterclass yesterday. Apart from one closely missed half chance he was quite magnificent. Best (potential career) player at palace since I have been supporting (1969). Wonder what that non celebrating goals thingy is though ? One moreyearor half season please !

Thinking back to when they were youngsters here, obviously.

Don roger’s, and peter taylor were my picks before olise Don Rogers is an interesting choice as a Palace player showing future potential. He joined us at age 27 having already been a professional footballer for 10 years and having already won a major honour. Taylor was 20 when he signed for Palace. I remember the headline on the back page of the paper: 'Palace swoop for boy Taylor'.

Rogers was the only player that I can remember , that when he received the ball there was an audible rumble of anticipation in the crowd , in expectation of him doing something exciting

Enjoy it while it lasts. It could be for just one more game. For certain it will be. I believe Eze & Olise are both likely to leave in the summer, although we are more optimistic of keeping Guehi.

Back in the day, Rogers was probably considered the better (or at least more exciting player) and he was with us in the First Division. But he performed no defensive duties- much more a requisite of a winger nowadays- unlike Taylor who, remarkably, picked up 4 England caps when we were in the third division, I believe. He'd probably be playing on the right-side now cutting in and scoring with his left foot. Or as a left wing-back in Glasner's system
