Thought it would be about that after the appeal, 10 points did seem harsh. Edited by SnapperKain (26 Feb 2024 1.27pm)
The trouble with computers, of course, is that they're very sophisticated idiots |

Good. I thought they would succeed. They spent enough on the most expensive barristers they could find! Still 3 points behind us... and another charge to come. Forest must be quaking.

I heard this over the weekend. I also heard they would get another 6 for the second offence, as would forest, for the their offence.

The following was posted by The Groover at 9 this morning: "Update We also have Everton's appeal and their 2nd case and Forests first. Rumours are that Everton's will be reduced to 6 points but they will get another 6 points, as will forest. You read it here first. Part one. Tick." This means that Everton are still below us and if the rest of the so-called rumour is true things are looking up for us and several other clubs, including Luton.

Maybe the barristers costs will put them over budget for the next season!

What gets me is how idiotic it was to deduct 10 points before any appeal process began. Surely it would have been fairer to everyone if the original deduction was suspended until the process was complete. So what happens with Forest? Do they get a 6 point deduction only for it to be reduced right at the end of the season? Utterly absurd. What ever is going to happen must happy very quickly in the interests of fair competition. There are only around a dozen games left for every club.

There are only around a dozen games left for every club. Not how it works. As with all adjudication, the original decision stands unless overturned on appeal. As for Forest/Everton#2, the decisions should be based on the merits. These may demonstrate e.g. a far more flagrant breach justifying a harsher sentence; or otherwise. No idea. Thus, 6 points should not be the default sentence. And as for the time taken, I do agree, but these are new rules and procedures. They are still finding their way through it.

6 points is still good for us, keeps another club between us and the drop!

I honestly believe Everton will get another 6 point deduction(along with Forest) but, also could be given a 2-3 point deduction as a repeat offence. The next hearing has to be done by April 8th(bbc sport).
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |
