His preferred position doesn't have any effect on his drive or not. I can never get over just how much he doesn't seem to care. It's bizarre. Obviously it took some desire, discipline and fight to get to the very top level so why give up now? Weird, weird guy.

I believe it was reported that there had been issues with his work rate whilst playing for Celtic.

What to say about Edouard... always caught offside, looks like he's running in treacle, seems half arsed 80% of the time, positional awareness or getting in good positions is infrequent, has no foresight, does not close down players at any pace. Has shown some glimpses of ability. Edited by CpfcWeTrust1 (25 Feb 2024 8.24pm)

He hasn’t played much recently. I agree he doesn’t offer much as an all round game player but he does know where the back of the net is. He is a finisher end of. Not top drawer but I believe he would score more if we created more opportunities.

Eduoard is two-footed in the sense that his right-foot is his strongest, yet he will shoot and cross with his left foot and he has scored with both feet.

All the same was said about Mateta, now look how he has progressed being played and given service. The same will happen with Edouard when Glasner sorts him out. I don't think people were ever accusing Mateta for lack of effort. I didn't think he was great but there were many saying that he'd never had a run of games as a starter so hard to make a judgement.

I watched Edouard at Celtic and he was a natural goal scorer at his best coming in form the left. He was never someone who would track back but you could forgive him given his ability to finish. Ignoring the insults about Scottish football being pub football, I accept it’s a step up to playing the PL. However Edouard scored for Celticbin big games including in the Champions League. His last season was poor by his standards. He still scored goals in a decent Celtic side but his already limited work rate became worse to the point where Celtic were glad to sell him. He has undoubted ability, but he’s never going to work like Jordan Ayew. If Glasner can get him scoring goals then he’s worth keeping but if not then he needs to move on in the summer.

Overweight and lazy. Bad attitude. Bye bye in the summer.

Exactly he is a goal scorer, we arent overflowing with those in our squad. Its the hardest position in the team, sometimes they go on a barren run, example Ferguson at Brighton was the next superstar, hasnt scored for months, it happens.

He's an odd one to assess for sure. Hasn't he got some great stat about defensive headers away from corners, which kind of defies the lazy image. That said his body language speaks lazy. Kind of want him to come good but it's unlikely. Think it will be the Turkish League for him next.

I predict that under OG we will score more goals and create more chances. Assuming this happens then I think we can assess Eddie more fairly. Until now our strikers live on scraps.
