Well, if our intelligence services were the CIA we would have just armed and funded the unionist forces. There was little need for our troops to be there. But you know the British....happy to die out and lose because we are nice people (in reality virtue signalling people) or something like that. Ahh yes the old 'a small minority' claim when it was literally hundreds of them and they got almost universal support from Gaza for their actions and in many quarters of the Islamic world (the rest just stayed silent) as killing and raping women and children was deemed acceptable in the name of 'freedom'. I fully expect your next sentence to be "I don't support the IRA but....".

No one wants children to suffer. Sadly, we cannot ignore the fact that irrespective of how it began, we have two tribes who wish to eliminate the other. This is the stark reality of humanity. We are a violent tribal species that battles over territory, resources and ideology. It is likely to get worse in the future.

As Orwell said: "Everyone believes in the atrocities of the enemy and disbelieves in those of his own side, without ever bothering to examine the evidence."
