1983/84 Away Kit - What were we thinking?

I was watching Nicktimo's excellent latest Season Review which is up to 1983/84. I have captured 3 stills from the popular at that time Evening Standard 5-a-side tournament where we wore a virtual Man U kit of red shirts, white shorts and black socks. I guess we will never know why?

I know what I was thinking. That has to be the worst period as a Palace fan, and that shirt symbolises it nicely.

It was a time in my life when standing in the cold watching dire football didn't seem like a priority. Work, women and heavy metal kept me very occupied.
