Somewhat surprisingly to me, English is the most common second language taught in Brazilian schools (over Spanish). So he's probably already ahead of Edouard

If so, this model should be very financially beneficial.

A club our size can't afford to pay this much for a player who will not be exposed until the following season. I expect him to play against the blades.

Some liken him to De Bruyne. Would be nice to have someone in midfield to stick a decent cross in.

I will be highly surprised, though pleasantly, if Eze and Olise are still playing for us beyond this coming season.

It's all about how we spend that money because they are too hot to keep. They will be all about the bigger club, which is after all how they came to us in the first place.

If this article is to be believed, They've inserted a Ballon d’Or winner clause into his contract... So given the good old Palace luck, get ready for Bamford MKII

Well if this Franca kid is a fraction as good as the hype thats being thrown about he will be some player for us . Its the first time Ive heard of such a clause in a contract and he certainly won't be winning it playing for us with an international exposer of last on Match of the day and the the odd monday night /Sunday lunch football on sky .
Still at least it seems someone at the club has been working during the summer , lets hope they have not been wasting their time and this kid turns out to be the real deal .

I look forward to 'a song for Franca' thread , lets hope after a few weeks it doesn't start with a W

I'm really chuffed this one seems to be getting done.

certainly feels exciting.

I do have a fear that this feels a little reminiscent of when we lost Wright and signed Gabbiadini as his replacement!

He is only 19 and coming from a very different culture. I hope we do not expect too much of him too soon and as fans we are patient and supportive of him.

I believe he's only arrived in the UK for his medical today so assume that the final paper work will only go through once that's done and our medics are happy, so in the meantime it's not signed, sealed and delivered.

Can't see any player playing for us winning the Ballon D'or! We'd have to win everything in the years he's with us. which, if we do, 4.3m is nothing.
Easiest clause to agree to, ever!

Agree with the plan, if it worked, only try stopping Olise moving next summer and telling him he’s got to fit into one player sold per summer. I’d make it 1.5 HOTTER players sold per season. What do you tell Guehi and Andersen? Wait 3 and 4 years?

I’m more bothered about the planning for after they’ve gone than when.
