There is a lot of rubbish spoken on the option of Paddy not being able to be groomed for manager after Roy, as i have said before, Mikel Arteta seems to have done ok, Rodgers learned under Mourinho, and under Shankley the legendary boot room at Liverpool spawned Paisley, Fagan and Evans, so in my opinion, if you think Roy is a class act, as i do, then it should be given major thought. So, So naive.

Of Course i am not saying give him the Job now, but if Roy stays it is worth a year of consideration, at the end of next season. Haha, Does Roy even get a say in this? He's gone on record as saying he is a coach/manager and sticks to what he knows. Mentoring is something he accepts is not something he has ever done. I'd guess its something he has no interest in either.

Is it any different to Arteta learning under Pep. Yep 100% different. Arteta wasn't offered or even considered for the City job last time I looked.

So, if Paddy went to Watford or Leicester, that would be ok then, you probably thought Vieira was a good manager, the main thing is we get the right man, obviously if Roy is not staying things are different.

I hope I am wrong but it wouldnt surprise me if Roy got another year. It doesnt seem to enter the mind of Parish that this would mean we have been going round in circles for 2 years or that this time next year we will be having to appoint a new manager anyway. We need a long term plan to improve as a club and get where Brentford and Fulham have this season. The players responded to Roy as it was a short term deal. A full pre season and they will get bored of his tactics by Firework night and we will be back in relegation trouble again. Hopefully Mark Bright the puppet of Parish will talk some sense to him.

There's persistent clickbait ' rumours' about CP interest in Potter, which I hope are true. At some point before the players return to training there should surely be an announcement? Dazza where are you?!

Roy seemed in prickly mood when asked perfectly reasonable questions about his future on MOTD after the Forest match. Has there been a contretemps with SP? I dont think so. He is probably fed up of being asked the same question by journos.

I don't think Roy is a class act. He's done very well the last two months. The thought of moulding someone to be like him at Palace fills me with dread and boredom. Not sure long term plans require a manager to stay for a number of seasons. Not sure how long the present managers have been in place at Brentford or Fulham? It’s more about building a premiership team which includes bringing in stronger/better players over a number of seasons including Academy/U18’s 21’s 23’s and so on. Our club is a much stronger club than it was when originally promoted into the premiership. And how many managers have we had in that time to get us to today? There’s no guarantee we will stay up next season but that’s the same for most below the top 6 to 8 prem clubs. Keeping Roy on for another season won’t take us backwards in my opinion and the way we finished the season with our strongest squad so far makes me optimistic for next season in becoming stronger again and a higher finish. Then again we may lose some of our top players and it will be a few steps backwards. There’s no certainties for clubs like ours but we are at our strongest in our 11 year term and I’m happy to stay with Hodgson if he wants another season?
