The Royals certainly know how to ostracize one of their own. Harry a forlorn figure not even allowed on the balcony, probably a uber to the airport. Someone has pointed out to me that over 100 millions to put a hat on a head is rather extravagant. He is now on remand in the scrubs on suspicion of treason.

Just imagine spending three months worth of Lionel Messi's reported wage offer on an occasion of national celebration.

At least we only have to pay once in a blue moon (71 years this time) - if we had US Presidential type inaugurations every 4/5 years it would still cost about the same - just more often....

Serves him right It does, but nevertheless, that sort of treatment of your son really isn't a good look on your day of glory. Most families have an errant child somewhere in the mix; the good families forgive and forget, if not in private at least in public. Not a big deal and agree, Harry asked for it but nevertheless, his treatment made the family look rather small on a day all about new starts and, you might have hoped, reconciliation rather than punishment.

Harry can hardly seek inclusion when he freely opted out.

He was invited. Surely to be invited and then more or less publicly diminished is the opposite of what should have happened? The whole thing struck me as another example of the pettiness and dysfunctionality of the Royal family. "We'll invite you because that's what one's expected to do, but you can swing in the wind once you're here". Like I said, I don't care but for me, not a good look. With a family like that, it's not hard to understand Harry's pysche. Edited by sydtheeagle (10 May 2023 9.00am)
