Gordon Brown was appointed PM without a leadership contest. He was simply chosen by Blair. How do you know why many voters acted as they did? Perhaps the incredible Labour manifesto was a major factor in Labour's overwhelming defeat. The Conservatives may well lose all those gains in the next GE. I think Truss has shown considerable political naivety. The 45p tax and timing of not following EU rules on remuneration was IMO a mistake.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

When it's not just the colour but that the quality has been poor for years, and now so full of holes the 5hit gets spread everywhere, we need a change of system and not more of the same in different packaging. I recommend a high pressure hose, right down the centre, to flush everything clean and prepare for a new start.

Newsflash, the UK is a Parliamentary system not a presidential one. You can google this for more information. In simple terms, the general election chooses a party not the prime minister. The current PM was elected by her constituents as an MP then members of the party as leader. Hope this clears things up. She's the CEO of the executive but, as you say, her status is clear in constitutional term. However, with a largely silent and ceremonial head of state, the winning parties are able to brand and appoint the PM as quasi-presidential and they perform that role accordingly.

The worst government is always the incumbent one. More than 1000 per day crossing the channel now. Twitter is full of reports where Govt looking to rent hotels on yearly contracts. Many are refusing as they want to protect the local area for visitors. People have become fatigued with this absurd situation. Sooner the no automatic right to legal aid is enacted the lawyers will start to lose some interest
