Good post and sums up my feels. It needs to be moved to a safer place and the crowds regulated otherwise there will be a tragedy. Ditto, but replace ‘a’ with ‘another’.

So the first two days were fine, only the third day had widespread violence and a stabbing death so let's not be too harsh, 2 out of 3 not bad. Reports are that a huge number of people were smoking cannabis and the police did nothing, it was being openly sold with other drugs. This is hearsay from people I know who were there so not fact ,as such. It literally says in the link that a majority of arrests were drug related so either the police did do something, or the police did something but more police were needed

I'm guessing it's fair to say that would equally be a 'tragedy' especially if there are many more likeminded MCv2. I'm not sure if it's an age thing but a lot of me agemates are done with carnival now too and hold the same opinion as me. Whilst there are a lot of people of different backgrounds who were able to enjoy the music, food, atmosphere of carnival with no issues, there is a growing number of people behaving like animals. Same with any large group of people, football springs to mind. I'm in my mid-late 30s and I don't think anyone older than me has any interest in carnival now

I think it should be moved to the winter and include expensive Latin American food. The Chilli Con Carnival.

Story the other day that a female author is in trouble because her publisher styles her as the Queen of Mystery apparently the Agatha Christie estate has copyrighted that. Seems a bit unfair that one person can decide they are the greatest (Michael Jackson) and other opinions are not allowed.

a few years ago a lady in a small town in England opened a sandwich shop called Mcdonalds (that was her name). The local Mcdees got sore about this and their lawyers harrassed her about this. Can't remember the outcome. Edited by Slimey Toad (31 Aug 2022 1.33pm)
