Signed for Celtic, 4 year contract, playing in front of 60 000 every fortnight guaranteed, not a bad move at all, good luck James and buy yourself a big trophy cabinet!

Celtic are fools giving a player with an injury record like his a 4 year deal with no sell on value should have been 2 years at the most

if ever there was a deal to illustrate the gulf in quality between the PL and SPL, that J McC can walk into a top-two side in Scotland must be it.

Good luck to him. Think it's been on the cards for a while this one but Celtic are a club in crisis at the moment.

Every game he played for us he looked like he was looking for a fight. Had he stayed clear of injuries he might have had more impact for us but as it was he was only a relatively cheap squad filler. As others have said, he must be laughing all the way to the bank to get a 4-year deal with his injury record. Having said that, I imagine he'll do well back in Scotland. I will be pleased to no longer have to hear the commentators say how confusing it is to have McArthur and McCarthy in the same team; it really isn't!

Blimey, I read this as James McArthur at first. Excuse me while I get my blood pressure back down.

Good luck to him. I always liked him. Had he stayed fit more often he'd have been a valuable player, whether for us or just generally on the market. I felt he suffered a bit two years ago when Roy played with three defensive midfielders, as he ended up having to shuffle over and cover the wide areas too much. He hasn't the legs for that, but if sat in front of the back four alongside one other in a 4231, he was better in many respects than Milivojević and Riedewald. Still, you can't ignore the guy's injury record or the fact that Vieira says he wants just one holding midfielder apparently (we'll see how long that lasts).
