I agree with you. I just don't think you can read too much into the new deal. I guess that Chelsea are trying to get him to sign a new deal so he can't walk away for free next year. This means that any possible suitors who are waiting to sign him for free will be disappointed. So the new deal is not a sign that he is wanted at Chelsea, just good business. In my view Chelsea are hoping that he scores 20 odd goals while on loan at a lower League table club like ourselves, then they can demand 40 odd million for him. At the moment his value is right down due to lack of games and goals. Wise move by Chelsea increasing his wages then loaning out. Win win for them,

I was thinking the same, he might not want a loan, and if he doesn't extend, they are literally forced to sell or risk getting nothing. We should bid 10 mil for him, take it or leave it. A bit of a test for them.

What is this bizarre fascination with Batsuayi. Hw's turned us down once before coz Chelsea were willing to pay him more. We've already got two £100k plus a week players who aren't worth a fraction of what they get paid and everyone seems to want us to squander what little we have on another squad player from one of the big 6. L just don't get it.

This is exactly it. Bats thinks we're too low for him, he wants a Champions league club or certainly higher than us. 100k a week would be crazy. We're trying to reduce the payroll. I think he was great for us last time, is a great personality, but 100k per week. He's not what we should be looking at! We have to look elsewhere.
I am only a Palace fan for the glory. |
