Somethings not right we all know that. I think Roy will be gone at the end of season personally. The hold up in contract negotiations is telling.

Who knows what the strength of that short piece is (albeit "a source close to" is often journalistic shorthand for the subject themselves). However, Roy was extremely touchy, at the pre-Southampton press conference, when asked about outgoing/incoming transfers and there does appear to be some feet dragging on a new contract, both of which may tell their own story.

They have to talk about something every window, in particular in this one where very few deals are going on.
He will surely stay till the end of the season, and, in my opinion, will stay one more.

Of course you don’t base anything on a single article but it’s clear to see from even from my vantage point of knowing nothing about the internal ongoings of the club that there is a serious disconnect at the club from the top to ‘Doug’ to Roy.

maybe it's a deliberate move to get Roy out at the end of the season. Might be a financial clause about him getting a contract extension if he get's X points or X placing in the Prem. It works for me. Especially if Eddie Howe is available at the end of the season. Looks like his magic has run out at Bournemouth, time for a new project at Palace.

What with a combination of overly high wages for dross, no spare transfer money in the kitty for quality, and negative tactics means it is unlikely that a decent striker who with a wave of the magic wand will solve our goal scoring problems. Just the opposite; who would want to come to a club that has the lowest goal count and cedes possession to the opposition each and every game?

The club doesn't support him.

Think how good we could be if he was given the tools to do his job.

We see it every time we get a new manager, a few transfer windows pass and the manager doesn't get what they want, manager walks, and repeat.

I don't blame him if he wants to walk.

It will happen to our new manager in a couple of years time and the next one and the next one until we are relegated.

I can't see Eddie Howe being interested in the poisoned chalice that is Crystal Palace unless he is really that desperate

I would not blame him either.
Roy is a man of honesty and integrity, rare in the game today and does not deserve this treatment.

Roy is not the problem, Parish/Freedman are the problems and until they are replaced, things will be just the same if Roy is there or not, clearly no proven PL Manager will want to be involved with a club that does not invest in the team, SP/DF have failed repeatedly to get signings over the line, there has to be something seriously wrong with these two as they seem to make the club toxic to new players, they only expertise they have is in last minute low key loan deals, they have no succession planning, we have an aging squad and frankly we are in serious trouble with no guarantee that we are safe even for this season. If we do get relegated it will be a seriously financial blow to the club and in the end only one person is responsible and that is Parish!

Can't see anything to contradict this.

I am happy enough to survive.

Let's just stop the BS from the boardroom about next level, moving on, new stand ( LMFAO ) etc

Keep in PL and take a couple of scalps a year.

Roy and his team have done great work since arrival, would totally sympathise if Roy hacked off.

Of course, if we have two or three great signings and we have a great finish to season thenI am totally wrong.

Looking like our biggest transfer news will be PVA gone.

Every season it will be about survival first, as it is for at least 10 other teams each season. This isn't going to change any time soon, if ever.

Unless new owners come in, it will also be about balancing the books, which is also pretty difficult when aiming to avoid relegation.

Agree, so when we get anything put out that suggests something else you wonder why.
