Round the Horne sailed VERY close to the wind on numerous occasions. Yes it did. Supposedly because most people didn’t understand what they were saying. Certainly true with Julian and Sandy.

I was born in 1994 but I can’t stand the comedy shows of today. The comedy programmes of the 20th century are so much better and I never get tired of. I started to watch Steptoe and Son last year which I quite enjoy, plus I watched all 3 series of Porridge this year which is a work of a genius. spot on my son, some Alan Aykborn plays have some of that quality you appreciate, I'd add Leonard Rossiter for rising damp and reggie perrin, the likely lads has lost a bit with age but was aiming high, and porridge as you say is pure gold, I cud watcher barker and Beckinsale or rigsby and miss jones all day long, but peep show and the inbetweeners are classic tv, there are some great comics now too but they are getting a bit long in the tooth the mertons, the murrays and the reeves's
