No insults involved. Just the simple truth, however unpalatable you might find it.

If you ever find me bringing Hitler into the arguments then you can accuse me of flouting "Godwin's law", although I would suggest you have just done exactly that.

That some aspects of the current drift to populism have worrying similarities to the attitudes which were found in Germany in the 1930s ought to concern everyone.

**Cough** Referendum Vote Yes/No?

Not at all. Just do some research on the basic principles that underpin the way British Parliamentary democracy works and you will realise all I have done is state fact and not offer any opinions at all.

The point is to choose who you want to represent you and use their knowledge and access to information to work on your behalf.

Just as you choose any expert to do a job you are not qualified to do yourself.

The fact that a majority of MPs oppose a no deal Brexit ought to mean something to even the hardest Brexiteer when many know that in so doing they are risking their own future.

Not quite correct wissy.
If my MP said they would do something if the majority voted on that item then once elected I would expect them to do their damnedest to deliver.
If an MP doesnt want to then they lied to their voters.

Then that MP would have made their decision prior to being elected by saying they would do something. The point is that they have the decision and not you. They can, like everyone else, also change their mind in the light of events, greater knowledge or experience.

In the case of Brexit, most MP's follow their whip.

Following the whip is Parliamentary convention. It is a tool used by Government to ensure the smooth passage of their programme and as such a way to keep business flowing in normal times.

These are abnormal times and such conventions no longer apply.

Did you vote in the EU Referendum? Yes or No? It's a very, very simple question to answer.

It doesn't get mentioned much but if we leave without a deal we can always do one post Brexit if the EU are prepared to negotiate. That is something they have to consider assuming they want one.

Would it be better for the EU to do a deal now when Johnson is relatively weak because of his parliamentary majority or wait and hope that Corbyn wins the next GE? Of course if Johnson wins the next GE with a good majority the EU might regret not offering concessions now as his hand will be strengthened.

Germany is about to go into recession as are many of the other EU countries and yes possibly the UK. The EU politicians may not want a deal but I would have thought that as we are a good market for many EU countries their businesses might want one.

With all due respect, they're not ''about to'', they have been for the past 8 months (as i posted, ahem, 8 months ago). But 'Aunty' n co will never tell you this.............until once again its too late (for some reason?)

Absolute b*****ks. She should have resigned and stood again in a by-election. Trouble is she knew her little gravy train would come to an end

It's you talking the b.....ks!

That might be your opinion and desire but she is under no obligation to resign. Every MP is elected for the Parliamentary term to use their conscience to determine what, in their own judgement, is best for their constituents. She is to be admired as sticking to her principles.

An MP's job is to give you what they believe is best for you and not just what you want.

Of course she is.

She is representing everyone in her constituency, whether they agree with her or not, whether they are a majority or not.

Once elected the responsibility to think and take decisions has been given by us to our MP.

To try to counter the effect of Farage and the promise made by Cameron of course I did.

That though doesn't mean I approved of it being held.

I thoroughly disapproved and was very vocal about that at the time.

However it was held and it would have been foolish in the extreme to allow those who believed the garbage thrown out by the Leave campaigns to just have a walk over.

Oh My Goodness, this is priceless.....no wonder it has gone conveniently ignored and unanswered!

If Wisbech says Yes he completely torpedos his own argument and if he says No then we all know he’s telling porky pies and we can’t ever trust anything that he says again

Answered. Missed earlier in the flurry of other responses and the fact that, believe it or not, I have many other things to do.
