In the case of Brexit, most MP's follow their whip. Following the whip is Parliamentary convention. It is a tool used by Government to ensure the smooth passage of their programme and as such a way to keep business flowing in normal times. These are abnormal times and such conventions no longer apply.

Germany is about to go into recession as are many of the other EU countries and yes possibly the UK. The EU politicians may not want a deal but I would have thought that as we are a good market for many EU countries their businesses might want one. With all due respect, they're not ''about to'', they have been for the past 8 months (as i posted, ahem, 8 months ago). But 'Aunty' n co will never tell you this.............until once again its too late (for some reason?)

Every MP is elected for the Parliamentary term to use their conscience to determine what, in their own judgement, is best for their constituents. She is to be admired as sticking to her principles. An MP's job is to give you what they believe is best for you and not just what you want.

I thoroughly disapproved and was very vocal about that at the time. However it was held and it would have been foolish in the extreme to allow those who believed the garbage thrown out by the Leave campaigns to just have a walk over.
