25 Man Squad

From the squad numbers we only have 23 players. Joel Ward 02 Should we be expecting to get another two players in on a free? I would go for Mario Balotelli just for the entertainment value.

As a squad I’m actually happy with those players. But yes it’s only 23 and not 25 every single Palace fan would have somehow invested in 2 more players. RB and Forward. Then we’d really be feeling positive. Apart from those two howlers, it’s a good squad. Looking forward to seeing if Meyer can kick on this season and how well Camarasa beds in. Hats off to Riedewald for sticking around, now he’s a point to prove that he can cut it at this level consistently. Be good to see which kids train with the first team.

I notice that #1 is vacant, that is normally kept for a goalkeeper, so, on that logic, our 2 freebies/loanees will be a No1 keeper & a n other
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

That’ll be the squad until Jan, I don’t think we’ll bother trying to pick up any out of contract players, they’re that way for a reason (not worth the money they’re demanding) Edited by Bearcage (10 Aug 2019 9.51am)

Didn't we sign a young keeper at the end of last season. Surely a forward and RB on a free. Part of me would love it to get Sturridge. Just a bit different to our current forwards.

I doubt it, I’d imagine it’s more a point of not giving it to Henderson because he is 3rd choice and keeping Hennessy and Guaita’s number the same so they are both competing for first spot. We don’t have a clear no. 1 in my opinion yet, so it makes sense to not give the shirt out.
