Parish is an excellent PR man whose evident skill amply explains how he ran a very successful PR company and made millions.

He transferred these skills into his running of CPFC, where he's on a massive salary and has received at least one huge payday by roping in American investors. He is now pursuing another whilst employing a survival business model to keep palace in the premier league: meanwhile, the PR machine is in constant overdrive, bombarding fans with messages that put crap players and managers on a pedestal and keep us onside with false promises of new stadiums/stands: a smoke and mirrors trick that has worked twice.

For those not blinded by the cheap timeshare salesman's patter, crap transfers, unsustainable wages, jobs for the boys, and no real ambition beyond just eeking out survival year on year see him for the out-of-his-depth chancer that he is.

The take the money and run approach to flogging our best asset this summer is further cause of concern, as cynically I suspect he's ramping up his exit strategy of asset strip and flog to some oaf.

He's like Ron Noades with charm.

Well he did also risk his own capital.

This thread is a consortium of Daily Express website posters.

The deluded.

14th, 11th and 12th places finishes in our past 3 seasons. Not to mention an FA Cup Final.

Where do you all feel we should be?? A club that in my first season as a season ticket holder had average gates of 14k?

When?

Glorified mouthpiece of a consortium.

Prime example of how successful the brainwashing has been.

Roll on another season of mediocrity.

No he didn't. He loaned the club some money and took a debenture over it's assets (including the ground) as security

Not sure anyone is saying we are not proud of what we have achieved in recent years. We are just asking why we can't push on from here. Wolves etc finished above us last season, what have they got that we haven't ? We had a £50M right back and a £80M forward plus other £30M signings !. In my opinion anything less than qualifying for Europe is a poor season.

Nigeeeeeeeeeeel, bloody legend!

Bar the Americans he has done a great job overall.
Mistakes in football are magnified and in the Prem even more so.
He knows that the next stage needs huge investment - maybe £200m and that without that and an amazing scouting system we will likely be what we are now - a mid to relegation battling side - and that is with Wilf!
Hats off to him and the other 2010 saviours!

I don't recall anyone else willing to take on the risk, June 1st, liquidation day.

Actually there’s quite a lot of truth in your post for a change, apart from in bold. We’re in minus financial territory at the moment so players sold are not creating profit. The US owners haven’t invested much of note and Parish allowed them in, but he doesn’t have the personal wealth to do it either.

In 2010, after 10 years of chaos and confusion, Simon Jordan led us into administration with £30m of debt. A four-man consortium nominally led by Parish bought the club and since then progress has been the best in CPFC history.

All four businssmen risked their capital but their belief paid off. We can argue all day about where the money to create CPFC2010 was found - as a debenture over its assets as stated above in Parish's case or whatever. What is unarguable is that it saved the club from extinction.

Would those who think Parish has been a bad chairman prefer to have the appalling Jordan back?

Nothing is fool-proof - fools are too ingenious

What does that have to do with your original statement that he risked his own money?
