A grand national. While McCririck was a contrarian and frequently annoying I had a lot of time for him even though I've never been into racing. He was probably a high functioning autistic from a time where people just got on with it. He never bent to the baying outrage mob and he was himself.....completely politically incorrect. Sorry he has died but as a racing fan I don't miss him. Channel 4 were right to get rid he added nothing to the horse racing experience I don't care about the political incorrectness he was simply annoying and added no value to the show. ITV have a pretty good team but they also have their version who again adds nothing to the show. For those not into racing imagine how annoying it would be if the BBC had an idiot presenting MOTD. Oh wait...

He was certainly flamboyant and outgoing and instantly recognisible with those garish outfits,sideburns and dearstalker hat. He had a real love and passion for the sport of horse racing and he certainly connected with the public. Thoughts go out to his wife he nicknamed 'The booby' and all his family and friends. RIP

The guy was good to watch. Unfortunately classed as a dinosaur from a less politically correct age so disappeared from our screens to be replaced by Tanya Stevenson, who may have looked better, but could not string two coherent sentences together at a time. We now have that pr*ck who lasted 1 episode of commentating on dancing on ice before being replaced. His name escapes me but is as annoying as f*ck.
