On 20th November Dougie Freedman and Paddy McCarthy will be doing a fans Q&A session in Speroni's at the club at 7.00pm. Bar open

This will be followed by the Trust AGM but the Q&A is open to everyone as we want anyone who is interested to be able to attend. Please do turn up as Dougie and Paddy have given up their evening and it would be good to have a good turnout for what should be a very good evening.

Non-trust members can leave before the boring bits of the AGM so no borings bits.

Can anyone interested either pm me or email cpst@hotmail.com just so we have an idea of numbers.

*Bump*

This is the highest access the club has given to fan to question them for some time. It would be good to have a reasonable number of people there to show it was worthwhile and it is a really good chance to ask all those questions about direction and strategy that need answering.

Let me know if you are interested any time up to the event itself.

Only just seen this but alas cant attend...would've been helpful to have had this 'pinned' by a mod...perhaps they can do so in future.

Having been to previous TRUST AGM's I can recommend them...

Good luck with tonight

Why Paddy McCarthy...what's he got to do with it?

Presumably because he's the Under 18 Coach, length of service and he was available?

It was an interesting 90 minutes, plenty of sensible questions and straight answers. Dougie spoke about the unbalanced nature of the squad and talked about the need for three players in January who could go straight into the first team. I don't think any of it was earth shattering but good value for money, especially as it was free. Well done to the trust for organising it.

Did Dougie explain exactly what his job is?

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Woulf be good to have some sort of electronic access to things like this, even if only a podcast or something. Where I live might as well be on Mars.

Being able to watch matches would be nice too

He did but I wasn't taking notes. Essentially it sounded like his job is to join up the various departments (scouting, recruitment, academy) and get them working to common goals.

Clearly he has Roy's ear as he described the recruitment process which involves a lot of sifting by Dougie and others with Roy being brought in to watch the player once the others are satisfied it's worth Roy's time. He also said that some of his 'scouting' involves looking at what we already have coming through (Nya Kirby was mentioned as was Wan Bissaka [apologies if spelt wrong]).

Having worked in a big organisation I know how easy it is for different departments to develop their own agendas so I could understand where he was coming from.
