Hello,

Would it be better to change my pounds to dollars in the UK? Or does anyone know if there are places in VEGAS that do it with no commission?

RIP staffie

Money Saving Expert web site might be worth checking. I got a cracking commission free deal where you pay online and collect at the airport, with the rate held at the price you paid.

Their branch was air side at Gatwick and I collected after I had gone through security.

However, as you say you might get an even better deal in Vegas.

Saw the below website advertised the other day. Sounds like you swap currency with people in other countries, therefore saving commission. Haven't checked it out, but sounds like it could be good.

UK. Generally high street ForEx tends to be best. Compare them with Travelex etc, even with the better rate for advance booking the high street kiosks are normally better. Intercash (First Exchange) in the Allders Mall isn't bad, although you get slightly better exchange rates in the small kiosks in London. Never let them charge you a service charge, just exchange.

if it's less than 10k (so for a holiday) and you are ever near one of their London shops use this site and collect (pre reserve - rate better)

click on "branch Orders" and follow steps

Always use and very competitive.

I went on holiday to Ayia Napa recently, came back 2 days ago, I exchanged my pounds to euros via Marks and Spencers, they have got really good rates, could be worth checking them out regarding dollars.

This is the one I go to as well. Always the best rate I can find.

I work in Canary Wharf now and haven't tried that one but avoid the Liverpool Street arcade one if you can. The queues are absolutely insane. Cannon Street one was a better bet.

I'm going to the states in November - New York. Currently saving like mad, but do i wait until nearer the time and hope the exchange rate gets better or change some over to $ every month until I go?

Yup, this is what I referred to about the London ForEx sites. This is Thomas Exchange, I used to use them all the time and the best I found.
