in the 37 years I have followed Palace I cannot recall a keeper getting a standing ovation for a save by all four sides of the ground, even Chelski fans applauded. Don't want to see a statue of him outside the ground though, many players over the years were loyal and served us well and no statue was ever put up for them. Jim Cannon has to buy his own tickets to games these days.

I think I recall a save by John Jackson against Spurs that was on its way into the top corner from a one on one from the edge of the area that had everyone on their feet . Not sure as long time ago. But Julian Speroni has definitely upped his game since January. Now takes crosses and saves from distance , like his first one yesterday , was as good as the one against Hazard.

If he walked away from palace in july he would be leaving at his peak and a hero that got us top flight football (hopefully) - if he stays he could be number 2 after a dip in form or cock up - do we really wanna see that? It's a gamble. Personally - he has a restaurant now - he can focus on that and retire a hero. This was once a quality forum....
