When i was a young lad in the early seventies I lived in Addscombe, but supported the 'Gunners' had the kit etc...However me Mom wouldnt let me go to Highbury on my own across London as it was too risky too far.So one saturday she said theres your pocket money(50p),why dont you walk up to see Palace V Huddersfield: its that or nothing at all but you will not be going up to Highbury 'im telling yer'I said ''But mum,Palace are bottom of Division 1''
That afternoon I stood behind 'Jackos' goal at the bottom of Holmesdale terrace,i was overwhelmed being amongst a 20,000+ passionate crowd. The smells Ive have never forgot that day...The smell of Old Holborn,Bovril,Vapour Rub,Roast Peanuts,Burgers,Hotdogs & sizzling Onions, the fresh printers ink on my matchday programme!
Well, that day i was converted threw away my 'Gunners' top,my mum bought me a Palace top for me Birthday...
The following season i saw Arsenal beat us 1-2 at Selhurst Park, thats the first,last/only time ive seen Arsenal....Ive been a faithful Palace supporter now for 40 years....Thanks Mum,im glad i listened to you!

Croydon Athletic have become my second team this season... Their Owner and Chairman are absolute legends letting me use their ground for a television series and as a result I've seen them a fair few times this season whilst 'location scouting'. They beat us 6-2 in the SSC as well...

Palace will always be number one but I can see Croydon making a climb up the leagues in the coming decade. They have massive plans ahead and I can really see them in the conference in five years.

I jy watching Wellington Phoenix - Paul Ifill has had a tremendous season for them and just failed to make the Grand Final, being beaten by the eventual winners, Sydney.
Sydney beat Melbourne in a penalty shoot-out after being tied 2 - 2 after extra time. That thug, Kevin Muscat missed the 1st Melbourne penalty, yesssssssss, what a tosser/whinger/deceitful guy he is. I was sad to learn recently that he was born in CRAWLEY of all places, not even Maltese! Has anybody got a good word to say about him.

Hartlepool United.
Left Croydon as a fifteen year old (many years ago)to live in the north east.
Got filled in at school on first day there because I was a cockney b*****d, and, because they all supported newcastle, boro,or sunderland it was either the pool or darlo.
I decided to watch Hartlepool and they have remained my second team ever since.

Is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour? [Link]

Palace will always be my number 1 team,as I saw many childhood games in '70s' at Selhurst.....
Theseday's i live n Weymouth,so watch them as often as i can.
If i had to pick another league team, well ive always liked the 'Toffee's....Everton are a good team, nice little ground & they deserve more trophy's than they have won.A great 60s-70s team & honours!
