I can't understand how/why someone would be so nasty. I appreciate I've snapped at people before or been a bit too sarcastic during darker days, but to be that nasty is beyond me.

I'm not sure on the legality of your ISP providing you with someone else's IP address without police involvement, maybe others with a better grounding in law can comment on that.

And whilst it must have been awful for your wife to read and you've probably deleted it from your blog, do you think she'll feel better now that you posted the insult on another site?

Technically it is legal as long as the website says somewhere "if you abuse this site we have the right to track your ip address" or something along those lines, same principle as a company having a warning on a phone call that the call may be recorded for training purposes...its not for that reason though lol!! Hopefully he can find out who it was but a quick question, if the guy was talking about his wife, wouldn't that mean he know's the guy??
