Does anybody else think the pain and misery of last season has all been worth it to be where we are right now. I genuinely think we are on the verge of a golden time for Palace.

You get the impression that there is no way OG will be waiting until after the season starts and the last gasp deal of the day on transfer deadline day for any players coming or going. I think he will have everything in place by the kick off of the new season.

This is so un Palace like that it almost feels like a different club.
I just turned on Sky Sports news and in the yellow banner it appears we are about to sign Daichi Kamada from Lazio and Chadi Riad from Barcelona... when were we ever this early before, the window hasn't even opened yet.

Ssssshhhhh we’ve been here quite a few times over the last 50 odd years, we’ve had more false dawns than love island
It really is amazing how things turnaround after a few wins. Not so long ago some were saying ‘parish has ruined their club’ and ‘wasted opportunity’ or ‘the clubs in turmoil and has no leadership or direction’ etc etc now some have got us heading for the champions league or we’re the ‘best team in the league when fully fit’

Just take it as it comes, whatever will be will be

I don't think last season was particularly painful or miserable compared to many over the past fifty odd years.

Roy was 1 PPG and with a bit more luck we could easily not have lost 6 of the 12 we did

I think we are in a good position, but we are still a small club punching above our weight, it seems the gold nuggets we have are Glasner and Freedman, you have to know when to sell as well as buy, i think Olise and Guehi should be sold 120m, Hopefully Ryad and Kamada will sign in the region of 13m for the pair, which hopefully lets Freedman find 2/3 more 15m bargains to keep up the fine work that is being done.

Exactly, and we’re only one or two cogs jumping ship away from being back to the real reality of being a palace supporter. So I’ll enjoy it while it’s lasts, hopefully for a bit longer than 6 wins in 7
It’s not being all doom and gloom, it’s just some of us old buggers have been here several times before and have learnt not to get too excited because we’re as good or bad as our last few games as proved last season, we went from not knowing where the next win would come from against anyone, to completely outclassing top half teams

One thing is for sure SP is now an experienced owner/director and has listened to OG. IMO OG has asked for and getting the deals done early and in our price range, I suspect we will see a "big name" departure to balance the books but we are doing the business early so we are not held to ransom later on in the window!! Love what I am seeing and COYP

All make sound business sense, but I have to say it pains me to think of any of our current top players leaving. They are all such a joy to watch. I dont ever remember getting so much pleasure from our games since Glasner has kicked in. Long may this continue.
But as always Lanzo you are right.
Look at your man Eze, where he is now! Pray he stays.

How true, intelligent successful businessman, but like Simon Jordan before him he had to learn as he was going along how to run a football club. The premier league probably came along quicker than expected so to still be here 11 years later pretty comfortably most seasons as well is incredible really.
Plus what I like about him is that we know we’re probably going to lose a top player or two, but he won’t let them go without a fight and for peanuts, we learnt this from his stance over a few windows with Wilf
