Big No from me. He does not have the work ethic required for a Glasner team. Look at how players have improved since he left, right across the pitch. He was a great servant to the club and we thank him for that but he was paid very well for it. He also held us to ransom until the end of his contract last year until the last minute preventing us looking for an adequate replacement. If he cared about Palace not his own personal gain he would not have done this.

I hope SP will not push through his recruitment against a manager's wish like he did in the past

a good post. I agree, however, not sure he held us to ransom.
I think he was always going to leave on a Bosman and SP's £200k a week 'offer' was a throwaway comment to see if it would influence Wilf's decision.

The issue for me was that we didn't sign a young winger/striker a year before Wilf left. He could have had a year on the bench coming to terms with the Prem league and then would be in a better position to replace Wilf if/when he left. Semenyo for example was linked with us but joined Bournemouth in Jan 2023. He would have been ideal and can play on either wing

Yeah not Wilf's fault, he had a contract and saw it out. We knew way in advance that he wasn't signing a new one.

And/or Olise was already signed as the Wilf replacement.

Did we not sign Olise as the wilf replacement?

I am unsure about Wilf coming back, he has lost some pace, however a slight change to formation to 3-5-2, Wilf up front with Mateta, Wilf has enough pace for most centre halves, got a feeling that would equal a lot of goals, just a thought

Watching Ronaldo play the other night gave me Zaha vibes.

What’s he like in the dressing room? He would need to play 2nd fiddle now or forget it. The last thing we need is a disrupter. I’m not saying he is but caution needed.

I get ex-girlfriend vibes from the situation. Don't want to be around her but it hurts like hell to see her with someone else.

Interesting thread. Seems to be a 50/50 split.
Love the man, grateful for some unbelievable memories, but..
All that's been said before. Backwards step, loss of pace, current fit into dressing room, etc.
Here's a thing: could he transition into a number 9, much as CR7 did at a similar age.
Wouldn't need to sign a striker then.

For many (myself included) we've always seen Wilf as a potentially devastating 9. No longer has the pace to go past players out wide, but certainly has that short, sharp change of pace and direction to get past a player and get a good shot away.
