Probably because she's been alive for the last 13 years - your post seems to imply that the Tories are the anti-migration party... how's that been going?
Can you point to some 'pro-migration' policies or rhetoric from this Labour party?

That people still give any credit to these sort of outdated tropes, which fly in the face of the reality of the last decade, still manages to surprise me.

Elphicke seems to have previous for trying to jump on a bandwagon; [Link] - these people have no core principles, no set politics and their sole concern is holding onto power - this type of fluid, move with the wind politician is a huge part of why our political class as a whole is such a shambles.

Labour's is certainly pro migration so if she has left the Tories because she feels they have failed to control migration it's an odd choice to choose Labour who are quite clearly in favour of it.

I agree with you the Tories have been a shambles so if she is sincere about her beliefs why not pick another party like Reform?

Or is she saying that she is pro migration and as MP for Dover welcomes the migrants in which case moving to labour does make sense. Sorry don't know anything about the lady or her views but then again I doubt the good voters of Dover do either.

We have not had right wing policies for the last 14 years that's why people are not voting Tory.

We have had plenty of rhetoric but little in practice. Weak on crime and defence, throwing billions at the public aren't very right wing policies.

- Brexit and ending of freedom of movement
- A sustained austerity drive with public spending cut to the bone across pretty much every public service
- A toxic anti-migrant culture / Rwanda policy
- huge anti-trans sentiment now creeping into policy
- Anti-union action
- Stricter protest laws
- raised bar for universal credit

Without getting into the merits of each point, I’m struggling to see how that could not considered a right wing government?
