Indeed.

Only from Muslims and left wing nut jobs like some posters on here.

Indeed.

Your lauded hero Corbyn refuses to condemn his friends at Hamas, of course he has tried to back pedal on using the word but his action show his attempted explanation was hollow.

And of course the wreath laying controversy

For those who want to go into the weeds on it I found this thread very informative on the subject of who has a legitimate claim to that blood soaked land.

I was surprised...if I'm honest to find that the Jewish claim is reasonably strong, but it really does depend upon what your starting date is.....for example it isn't as strong for about 1500 years before 1948....which is a lot of generations.

I was surprised that the idea for the two state solution being a fair historical resolution does have some weight (how much is a matter of perspective).....I just don't think a two state solution works.

I'm not a fan of SNL for reasons that most people on the right would understand.

However, I saw this message from Pete Davidson and found it quite touching and appropriate.

Oh absolutely. Israel is a country that is fully aware of the hatred those walled up in the Gaza Strip is (and lets not pretend it is anything other than a classic, in the original British sense of the concept, a 'Concentration' camp in which its basic utilities are controlled by outsiders) and yet they manage to just seemingly stroll over the border, massacre a load of very photogenic young people at a pop concert for peace and, as you so rightly say, prod a very powerful wasps nest.

Israel is either suddenly very, very shoddy at defending its borders or else let this happen.

You mean Benjamin Netanyahu, a prime minister still fighting corruption charges, in and out as prime minister, and has been trying to revamp the rules to give him god like powers for years. You mean he might have taken a page out of Erdogans book and planned this thing himself so he can lavish himself with absolute power ?
Bit far fetch innit ?

Yes. I once thought that Palestinians were imported into the area by the Ottomans; but actually their local lineage is at least as old as the jews.

Since the dawn of history they have been clobbering each other mercilessly. The jews currently have the upper hand, largely because this time no government wants to be seen to be antisemitic since the War (but Arabs are open season, unless they have oil); and they have buddied up with the biggest kid in the playground.

sickening to watch the civilians being starved, bombed to death.
Completely unnecessary, ...and illegal.

Are babies being beheaded, girls and women raped, children tortured and slaughtered in front of their parents?

It is a war and in wars there are civilian casualties. Far from being unnecessary, it is essential that he Hamas fascists are destroyed.

Interesting use of the word 'fascists.' Taking it out of the highly emotive context that it has taken on, both Gaza and Israel probably have far more in common with the traditional definition.

Both have a hyper-sense of national identity, both are highly militarised societies which forms a core part of how people define themselves, both are very much products of the modern age as opposed to any kind of traditional monarchy.

And whilst Israel is definitely more liberal in many ways, as opposed to the more traditional Palestinian/Arab culture, Israel embodies the definition of a corporatism, given the interaction between Government and big business.

Perhaps you could make an argument for this actually being a (first-ever) conflict between two fascist-leaning nations? Of course, people won't but if you understand the actual mechanics of fascism as opposed to the student politik understanding most people have today, I reckon there is meat on the bone to my argument.

That has never been confirmed and in all likelihood did not happen

I presume you also think that in all likelihood The Holocaust did not happen.

So what is your version of what Hamas did in Israel - a bit of sight-seeing?

Which of them wants to kill all Jews and establish a worldwide Islamic Caliphate?
