The only reason we have a manager is because Hodgson is a yes man and doesn’t want to let the club down. Our squad is threadbare and to have this small of a squad with no depth or even a bench to turn to is embarrassing for how long we have been in the prem. But then again a lot of you want to suck parish c*** on here it’s well known.

You've got a real problem with Parish don't you? Nearly every topic you start and comment on is anti-Parish, yet you never come up with anything, not one single thing, about what you would have done differently or what the club could have done. Personally, I couldn't care less if Parish is the chairman or not, all I ask for is someone who won't run this club into the ground again.
We've nearly disappeared twice when we've spent more than what we've got and spending 100 mill you don't have can backfire massively if that player breaks his leg first time on the pitch for us.

Alright, say you get your way and Parish goes "f*** this, EagleAlan78 is right, I'm off to spend my days in the Cayman Islands" what then? You think that Textor will step up? You think the yanks who have made it clear they would f*** off to another club at a moments notice will suddenly go hoo-f***ing-ray and stick a few billion in?

I think you're completely missing the f***ing point, it's not about anyone being tight, it's about having the money there to be tight with it in the first place, if we don't have it, we can't spend it. With the money we do have we've bought in Eze, Olise, Anderson, Guéhi, Lerma who've all turned out to be excellent players that we've scouted out and bought/signed on budget.

But I'm all ears EagleAlan78, what's your master plan with the money that we have, to bolster the squad? I think we definitely need a striker and two fullbacks as well as cover in nearly every part of the squad, how do we do that without a sh!t ton of cash in the bank?

Doesn't want to let the club down, I agree but 'Yes man'? No way.

I prefer to see it as him being a manager who is up for the challenge. Whereas Big Sam, Pullis and I dare say others, have been told: 'We want you but you'll have no money to spend' and have turned and run. He's the one who's had the cahones and self-belief to trust he can do what's asked. No, not a 'Yes man'; that's an insult.

What Roy has achieved with us, given the resources, is a mini - miracle in my opinion and all you can do is malign him with that tag. Ugh!

Roy is a Palace man since his childhood and wants to do the job required for the club but you decide to club him with the 'Yes man' tag.

Parish is the problem, sack Parish, wtf are you lot on?

Putting aside the obvious that we're ninth in the league by beating Man Utd at Old Trafford (to the annoyance it would seem of some of the people on here) with a side that isn't at full strength by a long shot, been in the prem for ten years, aren't saddled with a sh!t ton of debt and have managed to do that without the deep pockets of Chelsea, Newcastle et al, seriously what is the issue here?

Do we need a new striker, right back and more depth in the squad, yes absolutely. Do we have the money to do this, no we don't so what exactly do you expect Parish to do about this? He can't force Textor and the yanks to put money in, he hasn't got the personal wealth to do that, and like it or not, this isn't Fifa or whatever it's called now on the PlayStation, where you just buy a player and that's that. For whatever reason, deals don't always come off, other clubs sneak in (Chelsea has basically tried to buy everyone in the league) and players/agents can demand exorbitant fees, just look at some of the prices paid out in the last transfer window!

Some of you need to get a grip, until someone comes in with a billion in the bank and a desire to build the club up, we are what we are, we're at the financial level that we're at, and having a chairman with pie in the sky ideas and no way to do it has landed us in administration twice.

And to say Roy has no opinion on who the club signs is absolutely ludicrous. I'm sure he's not always got his first choice, but to imply he knows nothing about it is just silly.

I agree. I do understand fan frustration when sometimes it feels like we are standing still but people really do have short memories. Ten years ago to be where we are right now was not just a dream. It was a fantasy that opposition fans would have laughed at.

Bottom line is he needs to allow textor and the other investors to have more of a say instead of trying to control everything that’s why we don’t have as much money because he doesn’t give any of the other investors a chance so they no longer care. Textor has already said it. Parish is too f****ng stubborn to realise that what he is doing wont work for much longer trying to run the club on a shoestring budget with no depth in the squad.

You know, if someone came to the club with a billion in the bank and said "Parish, get out and don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way" and that person had the club's best interests at heart, I'd be the first one there waving Parish off.

Thing is that I don't think Parish is the problem. The yanks aren't up for owning a club outright, they're purely in it for the money and the thought of being outright owners I've no doubt repulses them.

So that leaves Textor and the bottom line is that I just don't trust him. A really quick Google search doesn't shine him in the best light with his approach to multi-club ownership, the way he treats those at the club, and the way he runs the club. For example:

Lyon - Currently under sanctions from the French Football Federation and having to sell up their better players on the cheap due to the way the club's been run financially.
[Link]

[Link]

Botafogo - Textor receiving death threats and fan protests after selling off one of their best players to, incidentally, Lyon.
[Link]

Molenbeek - Sacks entire management team five days before the season starts and it emerges that he put pressure on the coaches to play certain players or he'd start breaking contracts.
[Link]

And this article from the FT.com, that explains that Textor's business model is to get young players and then sell them off for profit, thereby generating more money for the investors, not necessarily the club (if it's in the FT, then it's not aimed at the likes of us is it?).
[Link]

So do you feel happy with this person having a controlling interest in the team? I don't think it would be a leap of imagination to see him selling off Palace players to make money to keep Lyon afloat and then suddenly our fortunes are intertwined with teams in other leagues, in other countries, how they are doing on the pitch, and more importantly, financially.

If Parish has spotted this (and I'm not a canny businessman nor a millionaire and I can spot it) then this is probably why he's being a pain in the backside to Textor and not letting him have his own way. Can't see Textor working to keep Olise, Eze, Doucouré, or Guéhi in the last transfer window with his mindset, let alone offering Wilf a lucrative deal to stay.

So whilst you might think people are sucking Parish's c*** on here, perhaps it's better than the devil's tit...

Just another thing about Textor, he also owns French League 1 club Lyon who currently sit rock bottom of the league, he hasn't poured cash into their coffers either....in fact he sold some of their better players.

Brilliant post SnapperKain that sums Textor up in a nutshell, not sure how SP got involved with him,the sooner we find a decent investor the better.
By the way our posts crossed.
