I didn't realise he was playing.

Thought our midfield, especially Doucoure did a very good job on him

Credit to Doucoure who performed with some aplomb.

The only Rice I saw on Saturday was when I was devouring my Chicken Phall in the evening.

Fair play to you, Willo. In curry-eating terms, you are a far better man than me!

Interestingly, in the WHU predictions thread, you stated:

"A defeat will trigger coils of smoke rising from my head and steam coming out of my ears."

Ironically that would have been my reaction to VICTORY had I celebrated it with a phall.

A 'Gunpowder Kalia' for me next Saturday ! I have sampled the delights of this fiery dish containing dry red chillies and it was consumed with gargantuan exhilaration.
It puts muscles on your breath.

Had a chicken Vindaloo recently, from your friends establishment (monsoon-Goring) wife had lamb dhansak, both very good & a decent heat.
Phall is only consumed on the odd occasion(the reprocussions the following day are no joke)

I would not class the owner of the Monsoon as a 'Friend', I happen to know him from another restaurant he owned. He is always jovial, pleasant and welcoming and we have had a number of cordial conversations.

I am delighted you and your wife enjoyed your meal in his establishment and perhaps my friends and I will pay a visit to the Monsoon in the not too distant future after a visit to the Bull for some alcoholic refreshments !

When I played club cricket in Kent, eating a phall was a player's dubious "reward" for scoring a century, taking a hat-trick or taking 5 catches. The rest of the team paid for the "lucky" man's meal, then took great delight in watching him sweat and steam his way through it.

Luckily for me, the closest I ever got as a batsman was 68 not out. My bowling was terrible, although as wicketkeeper, I did once take 4 catches and consequently was praying that no other chances came my way!!

Many years ago in Spain I was consuming an extremely hot dish in the company of a fellow supporter who is well 'North' of 6 feet and big-boned to match.
He asked to sample my curry and on consuming a spoonful he reached for his water with great alacrity his face a picture of misery.
His immediate comment was the coarsening of discourse in bellicose fashion adding that there was not even a bead of sweat on my face.
My dear wife informed him that I eat raw chillies and that I have the "Constitution of an ox" !!

I have a strange gut, in that I can consume extremely hot meals but its a white flag of surrender the next day (feels like sliding down a razor, useing ones arse as the brake !)
cannot leave the house
Often cook horribly hot curries & shish kebabs at home.
