On leaving yesterday, did anyone see what was happening with the West Ham fans? Police running everywhere - seems like a few scuffles going on?!

The Match - In simple terms, the big difference to me is that we are ‘mixing it up’ a lot more. PV kept insisting we always played from the back. Sam J distributes the ball really well from his kicking. It means we are quicker to get in the oppositions half of the pitch and start our attack.

Due to the fact we now have a manager (and staff) that knows what they are doing during the week on the training ground. Add to that, let the players play to their strength.

Entertaining game. Roy's "attacking flair" worked really well. Also made a fair comment about knowing when to turn off "the flicks and dabs" and keep it simple. No longer need to look at the trapdoor and can possibly move Levy towards the exit at Spurs, finish above Chelski and have Forest sweating at the death. COYP !!

West Ham. Long throw ins, ball being hoofed forward all the time and relying on set pieces for goals. It was like watching us play the old Wimbledon.

So pleased we won.

Remember seeing us win 4-3 against them with a rare goal from John Humphrey.

This is very important. Guaita isn’t strong at accurate mid length kicks, SJ is excellent. It makes a significant difference.

It was funny that Pardew was there as it reminded me of the games we used to see under him where we always looked like scoring and always looked like conceding! A very entertaining game that we thoroughly deserved to win. West Ham looked dead on their feet though. They were second to every ball and it wasn't clear what their plan was other than to fill the 6-yard box at corners.

I had reservations about the return of Roy, but it's hard to argue with what he has delivered so far. Whoever is manager next season we do look like a team that is a couple of players away from a really good team. How long we can hold on to Olise is a big question though, as he is looking like he is going to go all the way to the top. Hopefully reports of him wanting to stay for at least another season are true.

Excellent post-match press conference from Roy, Very relaxed and yet astute in his comments. The journos seemed to enjoy it too.

Indeed very relaxed after the 4-3 victory which saw us reach that 40 point barrier.Even I was relaxed after the game, shedding some of my negativity !!

Mr Hodgson accepted the invitation to take up the reins until the end of the season but at his ripe age of approaching 76, a short-term assignment is one matter, a longer term at the helm is a different 'Kettle of fish'.
Furthermore he works in tandem with Ray Lewington, and it is the model of plausibility that Ray might have no desire for an extended contract and a short-term stint is more to his liking.

I did notice...against wolves we had so many corners and we could rarely beat the first man...this week we played the short corner and tried to work it. Perhaps because our team does not have much height and trying somthing different?

When they got the last corner, from the reaction in my section, you would have thought they had got a penalty.
Where did the 8.5 minutes of injury time come from? During which Palace got a throw but WH player took it and they allowed play to continue

Substitutions, injuries on both sides, some minor Palace time-wasting. Adds up to an extra 2 minutes 45 seconds, I have to admit, even though I was yelling at Ref Pawson at the time.

I understand he intends to pause a few years and then stand for President
