I think that whilst that’s what the poster wants you to think it’s really very unlikely that any money has actually gone missing. As the total debt includes around $7 trillion the government owes itself its much more likely to be an accounting misrepresentation or misunderstanding by someone looking at the figures than anything real.

That said the level of debt is unsustainable in the longer term. It might be forgivable in the short term to get the country moving after the pandemic and 4 years of Trump not knowing how to respond to it, but it has to be reigned in.

The question is how can that happen in a country so politically divided? Who has the political capital to prescribe the economic medicine to cure this disease before it becomes terminal?

If the USA is forced into recession by the need to control debt what impact would it have on us, and the rest of the world? That could happen if it defaulted, and that could yet happen early next year. Who knows who will be taking the decisions by then!

Whatever happened to it this is an astonishing amount of money. This figure alone would give them the 8th highest GDP in the world.

I would point out that the link to 'third worldism' given by the usual suspect is an extremely biased interpretation that ignores all of the practical actions those lofty words entail.

I would agree with the aspect of more wealthy countries helping....in a practical sense...poorer nations. Indeed, this country and European based nations have been doing this very thing for..in some cases centuries....often more than wealthy non European states.

What it shouldn't mean is giving away birth and citizenship rights to foreigners. Giving your future to immigrants...who frequently have dual or even no loyalty compared to natives...a recipe for penury.

The link to Wikipedia giving the glowing interpretation on third worldism has to be seen within the context that its co-founder has heavily criticized today's Wikipedia (something I used to donate to) for giving politically progressive slants on topics rather than objective ones....which was the original intent.

Third worldism for first world countries means high third world immigration into previously settled areas...mostly into Europe.....as many have seen with their own eyes.....It means your living spaces and regional culture being permanently changed. It also keeps wages down for the working classes and increases housing costs dramatically....Good for landlords but bad for the renting population...which is obviously disproportionally younger people.

It lowers social cohesion and hence trust levels levels within society. This isn't new information, it's been known about for many decades and before that centuries if you know which books to read.

In most cases it means higher crime and lawlessness and a poorer area as the tax base moves out...which then sees the rise of gangs and drugs.

Third worldism is the destruction of what existed before.

It means reducing your standard of living by equalizing or equity. All because a minority of people want to destroy the cohesive nation state.

The phrase, 'diversity is a strength' being just as big a lie in social matters as rational reason would conclude.
