I think you are most likely correct; however, before Textor came in presumably Harris/Blitzer had the opportunity to buy the club outright and chose not to. I wonder what, if anything, has changed their minds and, within a couple of years, made CPFC a more attractive proposition?

Harris buying Textors shares is nothing but speculation at this time.

I struggle to see who else will buy them if they cant do something about the voting rights that go with them, who would want to pay for 45% of the clubs shares & only get 25% voting rights ?

Seems like an in house deal is the only way to go - otherwise surely if you wanted to own a bit of a football club there are better prospects out there than that deal?

Thoughts this weekend.
Values of clubs are totally random if asset values are taken into account.
Everton allegedly have done a deal with 777 at c. 0m, yet the new stadium will end up costing more than double the original quote of £330m at over £700m.
777 have allegedly agreed a deal to buy Everton at 0m, but they are currently under investigation for fraud in US.
Most Premier clubs are owned now by Americans.
Big caveat to Palace building a new stand that is currently estimated at £150m. That price will undoubtedly escalate.
Most clubs seem to get bought to satisfy someone's ego. They make no sense in any business assessment re values.
Most expensive sports club ever bought was Washington Commanders at $six billion. Completed last year to a consortium led by Josh Harris. (our shareholder)
Chelsea sold for c. four billion, but spent the previous 10 years running at £100m per year loss. Hence Abramovich loan of over £1 billion that got written off.
So the big question is, who would want Palace and why.
Its why I value it at little more than Bournemouth, which by the way has a value of £120m.
The only upside I can think of as a long shot is a change in tv coverage, where clubs control their own coverage as opposed to Sky. Great for top clubs disaster for small clubs like us.
We currently get c.£130m p.a. from Sky. If we created our own coverage, I very much doubt we would see more than 5% of that.
All the numbers Parish has presented for corporate profitability are super optimistic and certainly rely on top 10 premier positioning.
All a bit random I know. As I say, just thoughts.
My opinion is Football is a bit like .com era bubble way over valued.
Players undoubtedly suck most of the money out of the game at most clubs.
Based on nothing other than comparatives it's why I put Palace in at c.£200m all in including Selhurst Park. And even that is rich.
But ,hey, its a rich man's playground, so who knows.

Good post. There’s also the unknown of a potential European / Arab Super League in the future and the big clubs breaking away, which would dumb-down the whole value of the EPL, and could see top championship clubs forming a new PL along with Palace Fulham etc. Why pay a fortune for any EPL club outside the big boys when the future format of English football could change dramatically

I have no idea how these things work, but our current squad is valued at more than £200m alone I would imagine? Is that factored in? Even conservatively Olise, Eze and Guehi are probably valued at £150-200m just for those three alone.

Don't get me wrong, I think that given Harris is a known quantity, I wouldn't be adverse to him buying Textor out.

If memory serves me correct, Harris and Blitzer were open to off loading their own shares in Palace even if it meant taking a hit when Chelsea and United were up for sale so as they could buy into eiher as part of a consortium. I dont think they have any interest in increasing their shares in Palace if thats the case , If they did they could have bought Textors shares before him .

Yes I read that, just demonstrates that what this is to them is an investment, something they do to make them money. If it doesn't then they will lose interest and look elsewhere.

In order to preserve the value of their investment they will of they see it is needed want change. With Parish having the influence he has he can block that. This makes us in many ways a less attractive proposition.

But as Parish saved the club last century he is to many across the fan base untouchable.

Yes , i must say i have always been a Parish fanboy but am definitely moving in the other direction now , im beginning to think he he holding the club back . I think its ridiculous that he owns 10 percent of the club and has an equal vote as someone that has 45 percent of the club .
