McKenzie's future

September 8 2000

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace

Leon McKenzie is in no hurry to decide his future at the club, although his contract at Palace is due to expire in 12 months time.

The Eagles have not approached him yet, but McKenzie said he would like to stay at the club he has always supported.

He said: "Obviously I want security for me and my family but I'll just keep focused on the job in hand and do my best every chance that I get.

"My deal being up does not place extra pressure on me. I know that a couple of other clubs are interested in me but I'm not thinking about it too much.

"I'm confident that I can do something in this game and I feel I'm destined to whether or not it will be at Palace."
