Selhurst Park, Tuesday 7.30pm
Alan Pardew's troops are overwhelming favourites in this second round match with three divisions separating them and Blackpool. But like we know all too well with Palace, anything can happen in the cup.
Though Blackpool have never beaten Palace in three League Cup meetings, they have lost just once in 10 games against them in all competitions. And the men in orange have been successful in three of their last five League Cup ties against Premier League teams.
Backing a Blackpool win is 12/1 with bet365.
New boy Christian Benteke is likely to make his bow at Selhurst and is 7/2 to score the first goal with bet365.
Midfield maestro Yohan Cabaye is set for more game time on Tuesday night as he gets his fitness up and is worth a punt to score anytime at 5/2 with bet365 – especially as he is the main free-kick and penalty taker.
Palace to win by two goals is a nice 3/1, however, go for Palace to triumph 2-1 at 13/2. Both prices are with bet365 where new customers can get up to £200 bonus.
Palace are likely to be much changed from Saturday's Premier League loss at Tottenham. Benteke and fellow new signing Steve Mandanda could make their debuts. Joe Ledley and Yohan Cabaye will be looking to get run-outs after playing a half each at the weekend, although the former is doubtful after picking up a knock.
Damien Delaney's leg injury will be assessed after his controversial substitution at White Hart Lane, with James Tomkins set to come in for a first start. Fraizer Campbell (hamstring), Sullay Kaikai (knock) and Bakary Sako (thigh) are injured.
Blackpool's attacking quartet Danny Philliskirk (ankle), Jamille Matt (knee), Jack Redshaw (shin) and Kyle Vassell (thigh) are all out of action.
Gary Bowyer
"It's a great game for us, to go to any Premier League ground and put yourself against them is a great occasion.
"They've got a fabulous manager in Alan Pardew and you look at the players they've got in their squad, as well as who they've just gone and signed, and I hope he plays his strongest side. We've got nothing to lose and everything to gain. That's the manner in which we'll approach the game."
"I was fortunate when I was at Blackburn to take teams to Liverpool and Manchester City, and to play against Stoke and Swansea City. I can't wait because I'll learn so much about our players and they'll learn so much playing against some of the best players."
"We have to see who has recovered from Saturday, we have one or two who are just a bit sore and tight because they've played so many games already. We'll count the heads and have a right good go whoever plays."
