Palace v Bradford City

Selhurst Park, Tuesday 7.45pm

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace

Team news

Bradford will be looking for a win after going down 3-0 at first division leaders Wolves, as manager Jim Jefferies pointed out, "We are just one result away from being back in contention. Palace are also going well so it is a good place for us to get a positive result."

Bantam’s boss Jefferies has only two injury worries ahead of Tuesday night’s game. David Wetherall and Andy Myers will both face late fitness tests before the trip to Selhurst Park.

On the other hand long term absentees Lee Sharpe, who has still not returned to training, and Peter Atherton, who is not fully match fit, will certainly continue to miss out.

Palace are looking for their sixth league win in a row, which would see the Eagles fly up to 2nd place in the league.

American defender Gregg Berhalter is still recovering from a facial injury and will play in Monday night’s reserve game against Luton Town with a protective mask.

Another defender who could miss out is on loan signing Steve Vickers. Vickers was substituted at half time on Saturday due to a virus. If Vickers does fail to make the starting eleven Dean Austin will be his likely substitute.

Jovan Kirovski will continue to keep David Hopkin out of the side after an inspiring performance during the 4-0 thrashing of Wimbledon, a game in which he also scored.

One to watch

Benito Carbone

Bradford City's top scorer

Jess - 5 goals

Bradford City's bad boy

Molenaar - 2 1

Palace old boys

None

The little Italian is the man to watch out for in the Bradford side on Tuesday for obvious reasons. One of the most skillful players in the league, Carbone is great to watch when he has the ball at his feet and his influence is key to Bradford team's performance. He can turn a game and make goals out of nothing, meaning the Palace back line will have to stay awake for this visit!
