Palace v Wimbledon

Selhurst Park, Saturday 3.00pm

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace

Team news

Wimbledon currently lie in 10th place in the league just two points behind Palace.

Manager Terry Burton will be delighted at the fact that central defender Wayne Brown's loan from Ipswich Town has been extended by another month, meaning he will certainly feature on Saturday.

Although highly rated youngster Agyemang started up front with Connolly in the 4-0 thumping of Manchester City two weeks ago, it is likely that ex-Eagle Neil Shipperly will partner the Irishman up front in an attempt to once again score against his old club.

On the injury front left back Peter Hawkins will have his fitness assessed before the game. The Maidstone-born 23 year old will be hoping to make his first team debut this season after being sidelined with a groin injury, however a place on the bench is the likelier option.

A player who will definitely miss the derby clash will be Mark Williams who is currently recovering from a broken fibula, which is set to keep him out for at least another four weeks.

After losing on penalties to Sheffield Wednesday in the Worthless Cup on Wednesday night, Steve Bruce will be looking to make it five wins in a row in the league.

American international defender Gregg Berhalter is the only injury casualty for the game against the Wombles, as he is still out with a facial injury.

This means that Bruce is unlikely to make any changes to the team that played on Wednesday.

Clarke will continue in goal behind a back three of Vickers, Mullins, and Popovic. Julian Gray and Jamie Smith will fill the wing back roles with Simon Rodger and Aki Riihiliahti playing in the centre of midfield. American Jovan Kirovski should play behind the front two of Morrison and Freedman.

Meanwhile Alex Kolinko, Deano, Stevie Thomson, David Hopkin, Rubins and Tommy Black will all be pushing for places on the Palace bench.

However, Whatever the result on Saturday, everyone knows that there’s only one team at Selhurst, and they play in red and blue!
